Two years after Les declared we had the most talented team ever assembled, Mo, Yao and Boki are the only ones left. If Mo gets traded this summer (a real possibility) or picked up tomorrow night (not a real possibility), Yao will have been here longer than any other Rocket (player or coach). For a guy who was shaken by the Moochie trade, that's gotta be pretty intense.

Yeah, I agree with that. I have to wonder what Yao is thinking knowing that Mobley, Francis and Cato are most likely gone.

wonder if he knows.... has he made a contribution to get himself some cf.net bbs action

my guess is he will find it weird just like when Mooch was traded as this was foreign to him.. but obviously on a larger scale.. aside from his improved play it's probably anther good reason Boki is still in Htown... btw did i read somewhere in one of fastest garm days for a while that he was at TC all day today working out... if do very cool Boki!!!

Hopefully Yao will take the opportunity to assess the situation and realize that he is the team. He owes no one else any deference. No one has seniority over him. Maybe that will enable him to finally ball up and take charge. TMac can help, too, by taking a lot of the load off of Yao.

Well when he was asked whether he would prefer to play with Francis or T-Mac, he said that it was the organization's decision to make not his. I'm guessing that Yao will play the good soldier as usual.

What if Yao bails out when his rookie contract expires and goes to ORL and reunites with the rest of the x-rockets mob! Yao in the East! :p

Well, we can always send Yao an e-Mail and I have his e-mail address.

The guy gets online every night.

On the good side of things, now Yao doesn't have to defer to ANYone on the team. T-Mac, maybe -- but even then, they're almost the same age, and Yao's an established presence in the Rocket locker room.

Hopefully, Yao will now have no problem looking at himself as a team leader.

Fair point. For Yao to grow he has to be a team leader. Now that Francis is gone he can take a more prominant role. Clearly T-Mac will be a leader and is probably more of a type-A personallity than Yao is...but since this is Yao's team and T-Mac is new I am sure T-Mac will defer early on to get his feet wet. This will be a good growing experience for Yao. It will be good for him.
