The extended edition was good in some parts (like the automatic turrets going off). But other parts were kind of corny.. like when Hudson is talking about all the weapons on the dropship. But yeah, Aliens is the better movie. There's just a lot more memorable scenes in aliens... like when they watch the marines fight on the monitors.. the chaos in that scene is classic...
"I'm Hudson, He's Hicks" "THIS GIRL Survived for months without training without weapons" "Well, put her in charge!" Hudson was a Classic Character to me Rocket River I VOTE ALIENS
Aliens without a doubt. I remember watching this movie as a boy. To this day Ripley is one of the only female heroines I can watch and actually take seriously as a real bad@ss. The suprise ending when everyone is safe and then bishop starts vomiting was inforgettable.
Impossible to say one is better....especially considering they are both Cameron films and they are both classics. They both have top notch male action leads (Michael Biehn, Arnie), strong female leads (Sigourney Weaver, Linda Hamiltion), great action, cutting edge special effects and strong, character driven stories. My opinion, T2 is a bit more epic while Aliens is a bit more frantic, chaotic and frightening. Love 'em both. Although I probably have a slight more emotional attachment to T2; some truly heart-wrenching moments in that film (Dyson's death for example). I cannot believe though some think T2 is not only overrated, but not as good as the dated T1 (though still good in its own right). And for every memorable scene in Aliens, I can think of an equally memorable one in T2
Hudson: Hey Vasquez, have you ever been mistaken for a man? Vasquez: No. Have you? Gotta love Vasquez =D Aliens all the way!
I saw both in the theater, and while I thought both were epic, only Aliens scared the living crap out of me....so it wins by a small margin.
For me T2 is the definition of blockbuster in my lifetime. Im 29 now and it was a movie with hype, the biggest movie star in the world, a great story, great performances.....it was just amazing. Aliens....well that's beyond a classic. If I had to choose which one to watch right now, I'm going Aliens. I think Aliens I saw when I was younger and it just blew me away. I love watching all the Aleins movies (Not the AvP movies though, what a steaming pile they are!).
T2 with out a doubt over Aliens. Terminator two was a classic, absolutely had my attention non stop through out the film. And the Universal Studios 3d / live action show is pretty sweet.
Aliens. Better story, better characters, more sci-fi, better final battle. T2 is still fantastic, though.
Did you know that Billy Idol was originally cast as the T-1000 in T2? He had a motorcycle injury that almost cost him his leg before filming started so the role went to Robert Patrick.
