I'm sure this topic has been discussed ad nauseum on this board, but what's the scoop on T-Will? I saw on RotoWorld that Adelman said he'd rather shorten his rotation than play Williams.

Have there been any rumors circulating regarding his lack of PT? Is he still showing up late? Is he just an idiot? What gives?

Shortening up the rotation had more to do with winning than it did with T-Will. He has shown very little so far when given a highly limited roll. If CBud or Battier gets moved, he has a chance to crack the rotation. Until then, his tuchus is keeping the bench warm.

All I know is that he never plays yet he doesn't leave the bench and head to the lockeroom towards the end of games.

At this point I think he was just brought here as trade bait. I think after this upcoming Monday he will finally be allowed to be combined with other players in a trade. I guess we should know more soon!

Well, AB is a PG not interested in playing here anymore and the Rockets have a self proclaimed PG in Williams taking space on the bench.

He needs to get some PT.

He hasn't even gotten a fair shake to showcase his game. He's the most versatile player on the squad, and he's getting dogged by Adelman. I would be disgusted if Morey packages an eye-popping prospect of T-Will's caliber for a fringe All-Star in his late 20's.

I would think it is rather obvious. They expect to make a trade that is going to deplete them of Shane Battier, Chase Budinger, Patrick Patterson, or any number of players at the two and three spot. Terrence Williams is not being showcased because they are likely to keep him and his minutes will be there once a trade goes through. Worst case, they lose Battier at the end of the year and a spot opens up to him next year.

I don't like it. I would love to see him play as he is one of the only true two way potential players that the Rockets have. However, its clearly the strategy here. They had a chance to get a player that will take the role he was brought in to fill once a trade goes through. Makes losing someone at those positions relatively easy to do.

This is how Clutchfans works. Every time there's a new player on the team, might he be a rookie, a late second rounder, a D-League material, a player that hasn't proved anything, CF must give him immediately 10-15min per game. TWill hasn't proved anything yet in his career. We are hoping to make the playoffs, the last games we played were tight, there's no way TWill should be given playing time.

Thats the problem with the team. They are more worried about trying to make it to the 8th seed rather than making the team better in the long run.

You see if the Clippers make it in as a 8th seed, it's a positive sign. They are a young team and would like to grow overall confidence for players like Griffin or Gordon. Also show FAs they are a team on the rise. It would be the equivalent to the Bulls making the 8th seed a couple years back or the Thunder last year.

Rockets making the 8th seed does nothing for this team in the long run. They might as well see what certain players are worth like Twill.

Bingo. CF is well known for hyping up all the young new comers, dont matter who they are. I remember when Mike Harris was ZOMGZZZ a stud on here and people were pissed cause he never got any playing time. Williams has some talent but he still needs alot of work before you can depend on him consistently. Even if Battier or Bud gets traded it still isnt a given that Williams will get some PT.

This is my concern as well. I think we will all know better after the 24th. The problem the Rockets face is 1) they need a defensive BIG and 2) they need a superstar/ closer. Obtaining number 1 could prove just as challenging as number 2. At some point, you have to pick a direction. You have no superstar so you are now forced to go and get one. He's not on this team, heck we don't even have an all star on this team. If you strike out on the big names at the Trade Deadline then you got to try and improve via the draft. Sucks, but that's the reality we face.

What I personally don't want to see is us hold on too long to guys like Martin and Scola and they get injured (we all know Martin is injury prone) or old, when we could have moved them while they have value in an effort to get young assets w/star potential (better draft picks etc). Martin may have more time than Scola, but he also plays a position that you have 02 quality guys behind him (one w/major upside "potentilal" ). So this also helps to make him expendable imo. Don't have the answer and would really hate to be in Morey's shoes. Should be interesting though as I expect to see alot of moves this deadline. Even if its for the sake of flipping the expirings to TPE's (ala Bima's trade proposal).

Yeah triple-doubles in rookie seasons don't prove a thing

Point is he showed potential at the end of his rookie season when he was getting the minutes. He's proven in his few minutes on the court with the rockets that he is a great passer and has skills that can benefit the team. He's not a d-leaguer or a late second rounder. He's obviously skilled, so let the kid play.

If calling up a rookie from the D league to replace AB isn't a vote of no confidencel, I don't know what is. The kid must feel super screwed over.

I think we'll start seeing more of him tonight. We've quite possibly seen the last of Aaron in Rocket red.
