PLEASE READ THE RULES BEFORE YOU VOTE!!! In light of the new (and weak) Rockets wiki, I figured that us here at clutchfans.net (the best and only Rockets fan site in the world) should play a game that would help increase the funds that are used to maintain this forum for years to come. Let show how strong we are... THE GAME: Pick the number of games (0-9) where T-Mac will score 15 points (his avg as of today) or more in the following games: Sat 17 vs Miami Mon 19 vs Denver Wed 21 vs Utah Fri 23 @ Indiana Sun 25 @ Detroit Mon 26 @ New York Wed 28 vs Philadelphia Sat 31 vs Golden State Tue 03 vs Chicago Note that you have to click on the public poll to participate as this will be the proof of your intent to play and commit to the rules. THE PRIZE: All the people that guess the correct number of games will be considered winners and put into a pot where a name will be randomly selected as the winner of $25 contribution from jsmee2000 to clutchfans.net on their behalf. The winner will be selected on Wednesday, February 4th, 2009 at halftime when the Rockets play the Grizzlies at home and posted on this thread immediately. All other winners get bragging rights! INVESTMENT: If the number guessed is off by one (1) game, a minimum contribution of $7 to the tipjar is required. For each game thereafter guessed incorrectly, a contribution of $1 is added to their final tipjar contribution sum. Therefore, the maximum possible contribution is $15. Note that contributions will not be limited to the amount owed if the player did not guess the correct amount. All contribruitions shall be made at the TIPJAR SPECIAL RULES: In games where T-Mac does not participate will count as a game where he did not surpass the 15 points threshold. Furthermore, if T-Mac is traded, each game thereafter where T-Mac does not suit up to play with the Rockets will count as a game where he did not surpass the 15 point threshold. EXAMPLES: DaDakota selects zero (0) games, BrooksBall selects seven (7) and Hayesfan selects nine(9) and let’s say that T-Mac scored 15 points or more a total of nine (9) times during the aforementioned schedule. Hayesfan’s name will be put in the pot, while BrooksBall owes $8 since he was off by two ($7 for the first miss and $1 for the next miss), and DaDakota owes $15 as he was off by nine ($7 for the first miss and $1*8 for each of the other misses). However, DaDakota is such a nice guy he decided to give a full $20 which is allowed by the rules. UPDATE: Answers to questions and/or responses to comments: -Since the entry for nine is not available as voting option (this was a mistake and not by design), a vote for eight will serve as a vote for nine as well. Please let me know if something is not clear. Thanks, jsmee2000
C'Mon man...dont' you love this site? This is how Clutch and crew maintains the site. Besides if you win, you could become a contributing member.
I think we should donate to starving children or something. I'd feel more comfortable. The site can maintain itself through ads, no? I am a bit ignorant on this topic but this is definitely not for me.
<object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/Tk-ac0W7VJY&hl=en&fs=1"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/Tk-ac0W7VJY&hl=en&fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>
Let me ask you a question... Do you click on the ads? Most web based ads pay using a click method of some sort. If you would like you can play the game and donate your funds to the charity of your choice. I am a grad student that makes around $20K a year and about $1000 of what I make I donate to charity. Perhaps the next time we should donate the money to the Mutombo foundation.
I was thinking about something like that. A massive ClutchFans donor drive to let Deke know he didn't make a bad decision picking the Rockets.
Not that sad at all...with 37 votes I would categorize the votes as follows: 16% of the people participating in the game are neutral 54% of the people participating in the game are high on T-Mac 29% of the people participating in the game feel despondent Given all the negative threads written regarding T-Mac you would expect more negative choices. Therefore, the sad part of this thread is that the people that constantly bash T-Mac and write negative comments and fill the board with redundant threads do not put their money where their mouth is.
is all this necessary? since when did GARM become the place for posters to make themselves popular by moderating polls, awards, and fundraising drives?
I was considering to contribute, I just don't want to have to contribute because I made a poll mistake...
whoa whoa whoa. im broke as it is. i officially forward any winnings i might receive. im a poor college student, i love clutchcity but i barely have money to spend on food(especially after christmas). please dont hate me clutch
sure, why not? (though it'd be nice if someone could get King1 to pay his tipjar bet that he owes from our thread in the Fantasy Sports forum..)
I'm a rookie, I was once a member. How can I become one ? However I will vote, I don't regret paying for this site.
