I don't know how Tmac will make him an all-star if he isn't a starter...but 6th man of the year would be good enough for me!

The signing for less than he might have gotten elsewhere means he really wants to play for Houston and that is exactly the kind of team player we want. JVG will tear him down and build him back up in his own vision. Stromile must know that and welcome it. Welcome to your new home big fella!

I'm as excited as anybody, but man, don't jinx us. I FEAR that next year that group could include Stromile.

Fantastic! I wish him and the team well! I just hope he doesn't pull a TO and demand a raise when (if) he does well.

    Still, great news!

To the poster above...what's the status on Padgett? I know he opted out and was interested in returning, but is he realistically going to be on the team? I feel if Glover, Baxter, or Badiane make it through to preseason games then Padgett's definitely gone.

Every time I visit another BBS, I thank Clutch for not allowing moronic little pictures by our names. The lack of them just adds to the class ClutchBBS already has.

The sweetest part about this whole thing? Seeing the shmucks at lakersground.net PLOTCH themselves over this signing. I'm ordering my Swift jersey tomorrow. War Rockets.

At first, i wasn't all that excited at the prospects of landing him. However, now that it's basically a done deal, I'm happy. Suddenly I can stop lurking the boards again, suddenly I don't have to see Ryan Bowen guarding Dirk Nowitzke, and suddenly the team that I've loved a life time is much closer to being a contender. Things are looking pretty good now :).

Just got home and heard the news, I was a skeptic that SS would take less money to play for the Rox but that seems to be what he has done by not stretching out his decision. I thought he was the guy we had the best chance at getting but I really didn't expect it to happen. Props to SS and heres hoping that he is another piece to the Rox winning an NBA championship. Now let CD get us a PG.

Damn, just heard on the way home and it sounded like it was just breaking news. I look here, and everyone knew at 7'ish. lol. Even listened to 610 all the way and heard nothing about it until the national guys took over after Matt Jackson went off the air. Maybe I missed it.

Half way home I heard that SAR agreed to the Nets and that made he a little happy that was out of the way but didn't expect this.

    Great news!

Oh, but the way. The national guy that took over on 610 after Matt & Adam went off at 10, he LOVED the move by the Rockets!

Think about the speed we'll have now. T-Mac, Head, James, Swift.
We're like Phoenix w/ Defense and the Heart of a Champion!!! I can't believe it!! Major props to CD and Rocket family. Great news!!!

    from gatorfan:
I enjoyed that. I have to admit that this and the Laker site had people basically congratulating us. Pretty classy overall. There were a couple of people on the Mav's site that said this was the most significant move in the WC thus far.

I'm not a huge Stro fan, but I do think it's significant we went public and said "this is who we want" and we got him.

    Wow,

And they paid the right price for someone who averaged 9 and 5 a game.

Here is to hoping he becomes a Chandler clone but with offense to boot.

    J-ho a backup? Not bad.
