lol, maybe just maybe the guy was able to choke/hang himself to death without leaving the ground. Not saying 100% that this was provoked by Beck or Rush, but their anti-fed vitriol could have added flame to the fire of some looney tune who wants to be left alone.

I hope they find the a-hole(s) who did this and try him as a terrorist. The last thing we need in this country is people lynching those who work for the government.

Grizzly Adams did have a beard Basso.

    http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/lynching

    1. verb (used with object)
to put to death, esp. by hanging, by mob action and without legal authority

    2. To punish (a person) without legal process or authority, especially by hanging, for a perceived offense or as an act of bigotry.

    3. Word Origin & History

    lynch (v.)
1835, from earlier Lynch law (1811), likely named after William Lynch (1742-1820) of Pittsylvania, Va., who c.1780 led a vigilance committee to keep order there during the Revolution. Other sources trace the name to Charles Lynch (1736-96) a Virginia magistrate who fined and imprisoned Tories in his district c.1782, but the connection to him is less likely. Originally any sort of summary justice, especially by flogging; narrowing of focus to "extralegal execution by hanging" is 20c. Lynch mob is attested from 1838. The surname is either from O.E. hlinc "hill" or Ir. Loingseach "sailor."

    ---------

Please show me in the definition where lynching is exclusive towards minorities.

That thread is D&D BBS classic gold. We see basso shocked, appalled and offended at anyone suggesting that she did it to herself early in the thread. A little later, he even states that the charges weren't from some random blog. Casey was sickened that anyone would even think the girl would do that to herself.

One of my favorite moments was when basso claimed the people doubting the backwards B girl to what happened to Joe the Plumber. That is hilarious. Then 2 posts later the story breaks that it was a hoax for the girl.

I then posted that the only thing she had in common with Joe the Plumber was that she was a liar.

Now basso is in here trying to chastise anyone who would believe the FEDS death was in anyway connected to the rise of the anti-govt. movement.

Do you really not understand that what's being compared isn't the crime but the difference in your reactions?

    who needs to apologize?

Basso wrongly accusing Obama supporters for putting a B and blackeye on someone else's face

    vs

Suspecting the death of a fed agent on radical wingnuts

Maybe the Herod thing from the Nativity story, where he ordered a Roman census: not for taxation or conscription purposes; but, apparently, to simply track all the newborns and kill the future Messiah. Whatever their veracity, the Gospels are probably the best Populist manifesto ever written.

People with distrust of people like the Feds founded this country, not that I'm a 'teabagger' or supporter of either mainstream political party.

I love how when we have a president someone doesn't like, they all of the sudden don't belong to either party.

    but please carry on...

I too have distrust of the Feds. I don't have irrational fear, or feel the best way to deal with any of it would be to try and kill someone or threaten to come to Washington DC armed if things don't go the way I want them too.

    Wow. Not true.

First of all, the census only appears in the Gospel of Luke and is considered a "mistake" by Biblical scholars. The census mentioned was not ordered by Herod but rather was a Roman census ordered when Quirinius was made governor of Syria.

Herod's slaughtering of the first born males didn't come until after the birth of Christ (according the Gospel of Matthew) and only occurred in Bethlehem where Herod believed the newborn Messiah to be.
