Since my friend can't start threads and I have no idea what to say to him, I was wondering if you guys could help him.

we were driving in a construction zone, and a cop pulls us over without a radar saying we were going double the speed limit. I did not notice since we were going the flow of traffic but chooses us out of all of the other cars around us.

I told my friend that he might lose his license since its over 15 mph the limit. he doesn't mind paying the fines, its his license his worried about. I told him to go to the courthouse early so as to ask for defensive driving and not bring it up to court. The problem is the court is closed for two weeks.

what options does he have before his court date, or should he start calling a lawyer?

How does the cop know what speed you were going without a radar? How could he prove your speed in court?

    Fight it !

On my friends ticket it says he sped up to match our speed, but with us being 50 yards away from him already, doesnt he have to speed up anyways to catch up to us?
