Some of its that. Most if its also when any of the other 4 get a rebound, they immediately dump it off to the point guard anyways. So its just cutting out the middle man when a PG grabs the board himself (Steve Francis)

Whether its lack of ability or not, kinda smart Stockton not going for boards all the time. If he's got capable rebounders he can receive the outlet pass further down the court and get into transition faster, instead of running baseline to baseline with the ball.

Was surprised hearing McGrady only had 3 triple doubles before his 4th. Thats 2 in Houston and 2 in the previous Magic-Raptors years. You'da thought he pulled off 6 just in Orlando alone. Still I'm thinking Jordan doesnt have that many either ...

    1. if their big man could get it first, they would've got it first. give credit for beating your big man to it.
    2. a guard getting it is actually better than a big man getting it for faster and better transition offense. most big men suck at outlet pass.

Too lazy to check. How many triple doubles did Jordan have?

B-R doesn't have the game logs before the 86-87 season, but between that year and 2003 he had 25 games with at least 10 points, rebounds, and assists.

For comparison, Drexler had 18 since that season, Kobe has had 14 in his career, T-Mac has had only 4. LeBron already has 17.

for some reason i thought jordan had way more. i knew a lot were concentrated in the 8 rpg, 8 apg 88-89 season, but holy crap i forgot about how ridiculous it was the last time i looked. not only did 15 of the 25 come from that season, but 11 of them came in a 4 week stretch from March 25 to April 21. 11 in 4 weeks!

    That is pretty remarkable.

Here's another stat. Steve Francis has played 576 career regular season games, and he's had at least one turnover in 556 of them (96.5%). But this, I think, is even more remarkable. In 03/04, 04/05, and 05/06 seasons, Francis had at least one turnover in 226 out of 227 games (99.6%). He turned over at least once in every game in the 03/04 and 05/06 season.

    that's consistency baby.

hakeem has a fairly ridiculous games with a block streak (or at least set of streaks). there's something like a 4 year stretch where he didn't get a block in i think only 3 games (strangely 2 of those games fell on the same calendar day a year apart).

edit: looked it up. from March 18, 1990 to January 15, 1994, a 3.5 season stretch, he had 4 games without a block, with 2 of them on 1/5/93 and 1/5/94. in fact, in his 9 zero block games from 3/18/89 to 1/15/94, 2 came on 3/18, 2 came on 1/5 and 2 came on 1/15. that's just strange.

he only had 24 games with zero blocks from 86-87 through our second title in 94-95. that's just crazy.

Jamal Crawford is the fourth player in NBA history to score 50 points on 3 different teams.

The other 3 players are Hall of Famers.

That's not fair. He's going against a guy that has 7 rings.

Who are the other three players? Wilt, I assume. I can't think of anyone else that could have done it. Maybe Moses?

Just saw it on ESPN.com. The third guy was Bernard King.

triple doubles are nice but like pmac said, I'd rather have my PG trade off those rebounds for assists, it means more easy points were made for my team and that better helps the bottom line which is win the game.

Its the big man's job to rebound anyways, if your PG is regularly one of your leading rebounders (not named Magic because he was 6'9), then I'd be worried about your froncourt.

    Yep.

Another small guard doing what Stockton never did in about 10 times as many games. Crazy.
