Euro 550K is USD 660K so that is not too much. I don't see why the Rockets won't pay him if they need him. If they don't need him then lets just hope he doesn't sign a really big contract with a big buyout.
but don't they get their contract money if the sign and are sent down to the NBDL. I thought only free agents got min dollars in the NBDL
The key with Spanoulis is if we were to sign him we would have to dip into our MLE/LLE money to do it and clearly the Rockets dont want to do that at this time. The more pressing need is to have that FULL MLE available to use as a chip to potentially get Bobby Simmons/Walker/Swift or any other free agent. I guess we will have to wait another year for Vspan (tm)
Gee, that sounds pretty weak. Last year he wasn't good enough to bring over, this year he is too good (at least to be able to afford), so we now are faced with trying to trade him to some team that *might* want to rebuild around him? *sigh*
Well at least Badiane drove down his asking price with his performance overseas.... Unless the Rox eat Moochie's and Ward's contract or trade Sura, I don't see Span coming here this year anyway. I think, according to the new rules, if he or Badiane play in the NBDL, they count as Rox roster players. I don't think we are gonna have room for them.
Here's an idea, why don't we trade him(his rights, anyway) to another team's rights of a 4. We probably won't ever sign him with the addition of Head, so I wouldn't be against trading him for a player we need like a 4 or a 2.
