So I just read that the Rockets will be well under the cap during the Summer of 2010 when a number of big name players will be available. In part because T-Mac's contract expires then. Can anyone provide any insight into this? Also, who do we all think the Rockets should go after if this is indeed the case?

I'm thinking D-Wade would look good in Rocket Red!!

Because of the eco depression i hope that some stars will come to Dr.Yao for the marketing reason. But Rox should keep Dr.Yao first and they will

There are plenty of studs available that summer, and assuming we do nothing else but keep Yao and our current players, we have about $34M on the books and:

    Yao
    Landry
    Hayes (team option)
    Dorsey (team option)
    Battier
    Brooks (team option)

And when I say studs, I'm not only talking LeBron, Bosh, Wade and Amare. I'm also talking Parker, Joe Johnson, J.Rich, Redd, R.Jefferson, T.J. Ford, Crawford, Prince, Dirk, Pierce, etc. I don't see why we can't rebuild around yao that summer.

T-Mac will probably sign for less money and Artest for higher amount if he proves good in playoffs.

Apart from that I want to see THIS team healthy and winning something.

I don't want to spend time thinking about Wade, Bosh or LeBron in Rockets uniform.

I don't see any way TMac stays here, he knows his act is wearing thing. Time to move on and get someone else's money.

You want to hope T-Mac feels a sense of unfinished business here, but I have to agree, there probably are going to be teams out there willing to pay him more money than we will, for the same reasons we still support him. They will look at what he used to be and say "what if...he was used the wrong way? maybe Rockets trainers suck? he's still got another few dominant years in him?". I hope not, but who's to say at this point.

McGrady and Artest said they'd both play for the minimum in 2010 and resign a high Bird Rights contract in 2011. :p

ive always said that tmac would sign for lower money and so will artest. they love being here. i just wish they'd stick to their word.

if we get enough space, best option would be bosh as he could play in a system. a good PG like nash would work too.

If Yao is still good by that time, we should have a good chance to get one of them, like J. Johnson, C. Bosh, or D. Wade, otherwise not sure why they will come here.

    D e l o n t e W e s t is hitting 38.0% of his 3s this season (up from a career of 37.1%)

Aaron Brooks is at 38.0% this season too... (up from 33% last season)

I don't see why throwing cap space away on West neccessarily helps us upgrade our 3 point shooting?

2010 is a good reason to not trade TMac. His contract expiring right before the summer of love ($$$) gives us a lot of flexibility.

Hopefully we can sign a long term contract with Wafer, the boy has a lot of undeveloped talents.
