For thos of you who did not have time to read the millions of posts today I have provided a summary. 1) Cuttino cannot be signed till Aug 1st. 2) Popeye is gone and it's all Pippen's fault (I added that last part) 3) Steve Francis has no class or he doesn't like Canada. I get mixed up on that. This day has been a shining example of the WWW. You need a license to drive but anyone with a keyboard can start a dumb thread like this one. I would also like to remind all Rocket's fans that it is summertime and alot of our northern friends have come out of hibernation. Lock your windows because we will have lots rabid Jazz, Grizzly, Blazer, Sonic...... fans invading what is easily the finest unofficial team website around. They will be full of opinions and what not but as soon as logging season comes around they'll be gone again. ------------------ "Stranger things have happened, but none stranger than this" - Commentator after a parachutist landed in the ring of a Tyson fight [This message has been edited by Rocketsauce (edited May 31, 2000).]
More: [*] Houston isn't trading up. [*] Swift is the anti-Francis and has paid his way to workout in Vancouver for the Grizzlies (nobody has looked up the cost from Shreveport to Van. yet) [*] Francis is a jerk only according to me and the monopoly money spending Canucks (sorry Canucks but my family has places at MT and WB so I am used to your stupid coins and monopoly money). [*] Bryce Drew is a HOF (according to one pissed off Rockets fan).

A quick look at Travelocity says RT tickets to Vancouver from Shreveport cost $1781.89 for a trip on June 5 and returning on June 6. This includes a stopover at Houston Intercontinental. Somebody may want to see if they can find a 6'9" fella walkin' around the airport. Man, come to think of it... what are they payin' college kids nowadays? How many of these self-paid trips is he taking, or is Vancouver the only one? ------------------ ?
He was in NJ today or yesterday. So find the ticket price from Shreveport to Newark and add it to the Vancouver price. My guess the total of the two = no more school for Swift. ------------------ Rockets: 82-0 in 2001. If you don't think so, you are a negative Grizzlies fan.
According to expedia.com, using the correct travel dates, Swift is spending over $3,000 on travel to New Jersey and Vancouver. I doubt he goes back to school. In wonder how he fronted the money. Maybe he has an agent and hasn't announced anything yet. An LSU source came out yesterday saying that Swift was assured that he would be taken in the top 3 by some NBA officials (I don't know who in particular).
Sky Pilot .... that is interesting given the fact we really don't know for sure who will be picking in the Top 3 (not hinting at a Houston deal but rather Chicago and Orlando could move up) .... with that said I think you're right: I can't see 3 other players being selected before Swift. ------------------ NOTHING BUT .NET CLUTCHCITY.NET
My current prediction is: #1: Martin - NJ #2: Swift - Van #3: Fizer - LAC #4: Mihm - Chi However Orlando could move up: #1: Martin - Orl (the rest the same) I don't see New Jersey taking Mihm, and I only see Orlando moving into the top 3. If NJ does draft Mihm (which I don't think will happen), I see Van. drafting Martin or Swift at #2 and Orlando trying to move to #3 to get whichever one is left. If this scenario did play out, Fizer would likely fall to #5 where the Clippers could get their man after all plus the #10 or #13 that they received from Orlando for moving down two spots. It should be a fun draft.
Now wait a minute, Sky, do I hear you right? Orlando could get the number three with #5 and #10, but the Rockets would have no chance at the #3 with a #9, Cato, KT, Etc....?
You are correct. Cato has a bad contract, Drew is a back-up. If the chips fall correctly, the Clips could still get the man they want at #5, something they couldn't do at #9. Don't forget that a deal wouldn't not be made until after the #2 is selected.
more: The Clippers (despite their ineptness) only do such a deal if they are confident that Fizer would be available at #5. So: Mihm - #1 Martin/Swift - #2 Martin/Swift - #3 Miles/Przybilla - #4 Fizer - #5 ------------------ There better be a statue of Hakeem outside of the new downtown arena.

I would like to personally thank Sky Pilot for joining us here at ClutchCity.net. In the two weeks that he has been here I have learned nore about basketball, reality, life, and the future of the cosmos than I could ever learned on my own. You have have answered every question about what will happen over this off-season. I know longer have to lose sleep wondering what WILL and WON'T happen because you have already filled us in. I would like to do my part and contribute to your growth as a poster by teaching you a few key words and phrases; Maybe, Probably, I believe, Might, Hopefully, and I COULD BE WRONG. I only mentioned these because I fear that you have not been exposed to a world in which anything can happen. Either you're arrogant or you have not learned to express yourself adequately enough in your writing. I'll let you decide. Either way, may the next two weeks be as enjoyable as your first two. ------------------ "Stranger things have happened, but none stranger than this" - Commentator after a parachutist landed in the ring of a Tyson fight
"Stranger things have happened, but none stranger than this" - Commentator after a parachutist landed in the ring of a Tyson fight OMG! This is so funny...my friends and I have been using this quote for years now! FYI...the quote was made by James Brown, now on FOX, and it came during the Holyfield/Bowe II fight, not during a Tyson fight. That is one of the all-time funniest quotes ever on national tv. ------------------ "Yes, I came from the 80s...but I didn't kill anybody. Thanks FREAK, my memory gets a little hazy sometimes. I laughed my *ss off when I heard him say that. ------------------ "Stranger things have happened, but none stranger than this" - Commentator after a parachutist landed in the ring of a Tyson fight
