    Thank you.

May I know how did you break the puzzle? Which bracket did you fill in first and what's the value? How did you figure out that digit in that bracket?

I started out with the the top right square. There are four empty spots in that section. The top two have to be either 2 or 7, based on being the only numbers left in the very top row. There is no secret way to choose one or the other. It is a straight up guess and then working through the rest of the numbers that result from that guess. So to keep myself straight, I would always choose the lower number first when I got to a spot that had two possible numbers left. If that didn't work out, I'd go back and choose the higher number.
So I chose 2 for the first spot and 7 for the second. In this case it worked out but didn't make everything clear. The other two spots in the top right square have to be either 4 or 8, being the only numbers left in the top right square. Following my rule, I initially chose 4. That didn't work out. I would end up with two of the same number in the same row/column/square so I knew it was wrong. Then I chose 8 and it worked out. I don't believe I had to do anymore guesses after that point. It just started clearing up.
One thing that I used to help me keep numbers straight would be that I would put all possible options in the empty spots. And then I would delete them as I went along. So an empty spot might start out with (2/3/7/8/9) to start and then as I put in numbers in other spots, I would start whittling it down until it looked like (2/3/9). It's too hard for me to remember all possible combinations in my head so this was a necessity for me.
