By sheer taste and quality of the overall sandwich(meat, veggies, bread) I'd say:

    #1 Jimmy John's

    #2 Quiznos

    #3 Subway

#4 Potbelly's (What the hell is in that potato salad??)

Quiznos does taste better, but for a 8-10 dollar sandwhich I rather order a pizza for that money.

I go to Carl's Jr./Hardees more often because of the variety and because I hate waiting half an hour in the drive through. Animal style burgers are addictive, though....

There's tons of Viet bakeries in California that are in close proximity. When I went to college, I used to stock up on 3 for $3 deals until I got sick of eating those sandwiches.

If you're in Wisconsin, go to Cousins. Their Cheese Steaks are.....there's no word to do it justice. The rest of their sandwiches are decent. But you MUST try their cheese steaks!!!!

For me, I eat Subway a LOT more than Quizno's, but if I could only have one, it would be Quizno's all the way.

Potbelly is really big here in Chicago. They are all over the place. I didn't care for it at first, but now I'm a big fan. The sandwiches are a bit small, but they are really good. It's sort of like a very stripped-down Quizno's with a more efficient (but slightly odd, at first) ordering system. The sandwiches have lots of meat on them, and they are toasted. I like to put everything on my sandwich there -- I don't do that anywhere else, but something about the combo of everything they have is awesome. The only thing that sucks is that their pickles are weird and not very good. The food is cheap, too -- like $4 for a sandwich. Oh, and I hear their shakes are awesome.

I used to like Quizno's until I got a Prime Rib sandwich one Sunday and found a wallet-sized piece of fat/grizzle substituted for the prime rib meat. I've never experienced anything remotely similar at Subway, even though all their sandwiches have a cafeteria taste to them.

Banh Mi Thit Nuong is awesome. The Asian supermarket near my studio (Lamar and St. Emanuel) does them well for $2.00, although I do ask them to hold the mayo. A coworker of mine used to bring sandwiches in from a place in Bellaire that subbed some kind of garlic butter for mayo -those were the bomb.

Quizno's is more expensive true but the selection and quality reflect that IMO. With that said my Mon-Thurs lunch routine is gym for an hour then stop and grab Subway 6inch daily special for lunch.

I eat Subway alot, but that's because I'm a cheapazz...However, you get what you pay for and there is hardly any meat...Its a bread sandwhich...

I've had potbelly and it wasn't all that good, IMHO...Which Wich in the Galleria up here is pretty good...

    Funny name, serious sandwich.

Is that place still around? From what I remember, it was just cheap, good food.
