just got the harddrive on my laptop replaced, so this is the first time logging in with this computer.

The problem I'm having is when a scroll a page, it seems to be scrolling down in a slow wavy fashion, as in it seems to need to redo the entire page everytime I scroll up or down.

Any idea how to remedy this?

you probably haven't reinstalled your video card drivers, if i've understood your problem correctly. Try that.

Gordito, what's your operating system (windows XP or Vista?) and internet browser (Firefox or IE or Netscape)?

    Is it
Only when you click this here scrollbar on the right ---->
Or when you roll your mouse's middle button [] ?
Or when you hit your scroll on your touchpad?
Or when you press the Page Up and Page Down keys on your keyboard?
Does it do it all the time or only with certain programs?

It happens on every program. I don't have a mouse scroller on the laptop, but it does it with every other thing you posted. This laptop moves much faster ie and program wise than my other piece of crap I've been on for the past month, so I can't see how it would be a slowdown issue.

EDIT. Sorry, no netscape. only FF and IE

SOunds like your video drivers. Look up the maker of your Laptop, and get the latest drivers.

Download your video drivers. Most likely it's using the microsoft video driver and those usually aren't so great.

It said "unknown." When I clicked it, it downloaded the thinkpad driver.

    That didn't help.

Kinda weird I'd need a video card. Everything else is working just fine.

Give us the brand and model laptop you have and I'm sure one of us can find the driver link for you.

99.9% sure its a video driver problem. As said before, post your computer model and make and someone should be able to find the video driver easily.

now *that* is where stupid computer questions come from.
no one here said you need a video card. They said you need a video card *driver*.

just answer their questions and quit trying to figure things out like a stupid computer user. :p
