[rquoter]Will Amare Stoudemire re-sign with the Suns this summer? That's the question I posed Thursday to a source close to Stoudemire.

Stoudemire, you may remember, had his bags packed for weeks, expecting to be traded by the Suns near the February trade deadline. When potential trades fell apart at the deadline, Amare was furious and vowed to bolt Phoenix this summer when he could become an unrestricted free agent, a source close to the process told ESPN.com

    ...

Given how successful the team has been lately, could Amare re-sign with the Suns?

“I don't think it's going to happen," a source close to Stoudemire told ESPN. "Amare feels like the organization disrespected him. Amare loves his teammates and has really enjoyed playing for the team these last few months, but he's reluctant to commit to Phoenix long-term."[/rquoter]

Hey, Phoenix should go after Chris Bosh, if they decide to let Amar'e go.

I don't really care, and I don't want him on Rockets team. He can't and doesn't want to play defense, but rather sit in the bath tub watching his own dunking video (do you guys still remember that ad? lol).

I don't think even then they'll have enough cap room for a max contract.

    They could do a sign-and-sign-and-trade, though :p

I used to want him as a rocket, but after these past couple of games, I now see that he doesn't handle the Lakers size any better than our guys did this season. In that light, I don't see the need in having him ... our offense is going to be fine (w/ Martin, Brooks, Scola, & Yao). If someone isn't an upgrade for us on D, then they have no place here.

I know its a long shot but if its not Lebron, then I prefer to keep our young players and and NY picks and rebuild that way.

the team gave up on him a long time ago

he is the only legit big the suns what do u expect him to do when they are throwing 2 7fts and a 6'10 guy on him, their is no one on that suns team that can bang with them except for stoudemire, you cannot blame this series on him. amare said it best, before gasol and byum were on the same team, he used to own both of them when gasol was on the griz and byum had no help.

the guy is definetly better than bosh who a ton of people on this board think is the next coming of jesus christ

    That's your opinion...

I beg to differ. If anything, this series points out his greatest weakness - his defense. In all the other series, he could get away with it because the big men in the other games were not as skilled or are on the decline and he could dominate offensively. His man to man defense in non existent as is his pick and roll defense. Bosh does not have a great pg to get him the ball and set him up like Amare does. At least Bosh can play and is more than willing to play defense.

and where have the raptors ranked in defense the last few years, near the bottom of the league, both players are on teams that play little defense, amare has quicker first step, can shoot a 17 footer and is better around the rim, only thing bosh has on him is fade away jump shots which are none in existent in amares play

show me some clips of boshs stellar defense, better yet show me some of him doing that in the playoffs, or better yet show me some clips of bosh tearing up the greatest defensive player of the last 10 years tim duncan, which amare does on a regular basis and has done so for the past 6 years plus

Scola despite his relative lack of size, is a pretty hard worker on D compared to Bosh or Amare. I don't think either of the latter have what it takes to go up against guys like Gasol, Boozer, Duncan, etc. Just look at the abuse Amare took from Odom in Game 1.

In the right system I think Amare could be an effective defender. If we got a shot at him I think Morey will go for it.

Stoudemire really makes no effort to play any D at all.. Its pretty pathetic and sad. Even given the fact the Suns dont focus on D his lack of effort is just horrible. I dont want stoudemire on the suns or the rockets. Well I take that back I wouldnt want Studemire on the Suns or the Rockets for the max. if it was for less money than yea he is a pretty damn good player
