This isn't to anyone in particular, but I'm getting seriously annoyed/laughing a lot at these people who propose trades like 'Rice and #1 for Odom, Olowakandi, #8, and #12.' If you'd like to propose a trade, great. I'd love to hear it. I wouldn't be on this board if I didn't. But just try thinking for 8 seconds whether it would be remotely plausible/good for the other team. I'm not interested in wasting my time reading about trades that don't even have the slightest chance of happening.

ALL REASONABLE/REALISTIC TRADES ARE WELCOME ON THIS THREAD.

in that case i have one for you!

the rockets send the #1 + a bad contract (i.e. rice, moT, cato), add the #15 and send it to the grizz for the #4 and jerry west. we may have to add turbo to the mix for them to do it.

with jerry west we can all stop worrying about coming up with these trade proposals because someone that knows how to build a winning team will be doing it for us!

    just kidding, i love cd!

You know, if we didn't have Dawson, that wouldn't be such a bad idea.:D

    Good idea. My 2 cents:

    1) KG will make $25m next season. Go to RealGM and see how much the Rocks have to gut the team to get to that figure.

    2) Players that are FA's can not be involved in draft day trades - Rashard Lewis, Kandi-man, Bonzi, Rasheed.

A lot of "dumb" trade threads/proposals would be elimimated if just those 2 points are considered along with draft picks having no $ value in trades unless signed and when signed can not be traded until around Dec. 15th.

I enjoy reading a "good" proposal but c'mon - #1 + KT for Garnett? This doesn't even work capwise forget the common sense aspects.

OK, I guess my 2 cents turned into a quarter! :)

I have already checked with RealGM.com and the Rockets can send the #1, plus MoFat, Fato, and A Lot of Rice and the trade was accepted. TRADE ACCEPTED. Minnesota needs a point bad, Terrell Brandon plans on bagging up the truck and Billups is not a point. Garnett's and Joe Smith's contracts handicapps the team and the only trade bait is Scerzbiak.

And how would taking a bunch of long-term big contracts help them fix their team? Great, they now have a point guard. But now they no longer have an inside presence! (and no, Cato doesn't count)

They can get so much more for Garnett than the #1 and Cato, a gimpy Mo Taylor, and a gimpy Glen Rice.

Drexfan...not for nothing but its not like you came up with any ideas. I guess the "DUMB TRADES" (as you put it) intrigue you a little because you obviously take the time to check out the threads in which they are posted.

Everybody on here ( I think I can speak for most) is elated with the fact that we control the draft. If that excitement spews some silly trade proposals, who cares? I mean seriously, if someone proposes a trade that works under the cap and is to your liking, what are you going to do with the suggestion anyway??? Print the thread and wallpaper your room with it?

Calm down and let fans have all the fun they want with this and if it angers you so much to read the dumb trade proposals, then turn off your computer until July.

And by the way....talking about getting KG in a trade is about as far as yuo can get from reality so your "pure trade" thread is already poisoned

And you want us to believe the T-Wolves take on Cato, Taylor and Rice's long-term contracts? TRADE DECLINED. Minnesota has more sense than that.

Thanks for providing such a good example of the "dumb" trades Drexlerfan22 started this thread about.

I'd trade Jay Williams, Eddie Griffin, and 2 out of our 3 big contracts (Minnesotta's choice), along with the #15 for KG. ON DECEMBER 15! We'll pick fopr them, then later sign them all and include them in the trade.

If we can somehow make turn the 2 picks into Jay Williams and Kareem Rush, I think Minny would be interested. Rush, Williams, and Griffin is a VERY good core.

And this is the Rockets team after your trade:

    5) Collier
    4) KT
    2) Garnett / Rice / TMo
    2) Cat
    1) Steve/Mooch

How is this team any better than the current TWolves? Can you say "1st round exit"?

Well, if you include our two biggest "big contacts", Rice and Taylor, then you're still about $3M short in salary. So, you'll need to include another $3M in bad contracts. Now it's even a less attractive deal for Minnesota!

Somehow, no matter what the TWolves think of Williams,Rush and Griffen's potential, I don't think that they will take on an additional $17M in salary to acquire them. The whole purpose of trading Garnett would be to either get cap relief or turn themselves into a contender. This trade would accomplish neither.

I also think that if Minny were to lose their mind and trade KG, they would almost certainly looking to replace the 1st round picks that Stern took away

Actually, If you've been reading the board recently, I've come up with plenty of trade proposals. And as I said in my original post, I am intrigued by others' trade proposals (I believe I said "I'd love to hear it. I wouldn't be on this board if I didn't"). So, I go into threads that say stuff like "trade idea," because I'm interested. Then, I get annoyed that I just wasted my time because the deal doesn't work under salary cap rules and isn't even remotely plausible even if it did.

Wallpaper my room with it? I'm just interested in some of the possibilities! I want all the newest Rockets info! I'm assuming that's why everybody's here. Is it different for you? The possibilty that fans will stop proposing deals that would never work is merely wishful thinking, I know. This post is just a rant on how I hate wasting 15 minutes of my life everyday reading gibberish. However, I enjoy the other hour everyday on this board (now that it's summertime:D) when I'm getting new and interesting Rockets info. Sorry if you took my post too seriously.

I know. Like I said before, this post is only wishful thinking.
