Does anybody have any recommendations of LEGAL stimulants besides caffeine? I might be starting a 3rd shift job, 10:30 Pm to 7:00 AM and I am afraid I might need a little help staying awake, alert, and energetic. I would also like them to be safe or as safe as possible. Does anything exist without a prescription?

are you against any caffeine or just caffeine from soda and other drinks?

yogurt and dark chocolate are good sources of natural caffeine. though i think this too can become addictive.

    sorry, just kidding.

stress will keep you awake. You could get into a bad relationship. Okay, kidding again.

I honestly think the green tea extract is a cool idea. But I worry that anything you do day-in day-out will be addictive. If I were you I would work out right before the shift each time. Seriously, if I work late at night, I'm up for hours.

If you're going to keep the 3rd shift for a while, you can kind of train yourself into it.

What do you have against nicotine and caffeine? Those are the two most common stimulants around(non-prescription), and perfectly safe.

I mean seriously do you want a stimulant or not?

Nicotine gum is not addictive because it gets absorbed very slowly and the peak blood concentractions of nicotine gum are WAY lower than smoking which is good for staying awake because you will not peak hard and fast then crash. Plus the gum is reasonably priced now with generics.

Caffeine is available VERY cheap. You can just take the pure stuff without a coffee or tea which will eliminate the sugar rush then subsequent insulin crash so common in the energy drinks.

The only thing thing really left is Ephedrine HCL. You can get them for about 10 bucks per 60 tablets as Primatene Tablets 12.5mg. Its pretty effective and if you cannot handle side effects of caffeine then you might be able to deal with this. The effects are a bit different.

I'm hoping you get caffeine headaches and cannot use caffeine and used to be a smoker or something thus avoiding nicotine because you specifically asked for a stimulant then shot down the 2 most common and safest stimulants.

Ephedrine is no more dangerous and it is the last option of the over the counter available stimulants.

Green Tea extract is not a stimulant.
Sugar packets will induce insulin crash which will make you way more tired.

Never was a ban on ephedrine. Just on Ephedra which is the CRAP extract that is much lower quality than true Ephederine HCL. It causes digestion problems and actually can rot (it is a root afterall)

It was just that it was being called a supplement and it is clearly a drug. SO they dumped it. Good riddance as far as I can tell. They would charge 30 bucks a bottle for what you can get for 5 of pharmacy quality stuff.

 Why you gotta pour salt on an open wound? I guess you're going to call ME a "wet back" next, huh?!?!?!? HUH?!?!!?

    I kid.

Dude. If you're working that much, sleep maybe four hours before and four hours AFTER and you'll be refreshed. Please don't tell me that you're on CF.net both day and night... get you some rest, man. Get some sleep. That graveyard crap was built for REAL MEN who say "I want to sleep now" and do. GET LOTS OF SLEEP.

No, I guess I don't have a stimulant. You should have asked for a "relaxer" to sleep more BEFORE and AFTER. I don't know too many things that make me sleepy, though. (wth am I saying, I should be asleep RIGHT NOW  myself )

Never dealt with nicotine but I can tell you what I hate about caffeine. I hate when you're addicted to it and then you don't have any during the day and get a massive headache along with fatigue. It took me forever to get away from caffeine and I am not going back.

I heard bomber pilots get some sort of prescription narcolepsy drug that keeps you awake with little side effects...that we know of yet.
