Maybe he'd earn some playing time if he did something while out there on the court. The players who put on the best show play. I didn't see the 1st half, but in the second half, every time Francis touched the ball, he stopped the flow of the game and slowed everything up. That's not exciting for the fans, and that's not going to earn playing time.
It could be because the other starters have about three times the playing time of Steve, and also rarely let him touch the ball when he did play.
Steve never even got to bring it up for the West. After a made basket by the East they'd just pass it to Kobe and let him take 25 shots!
Francis brought up the ball several times. He makes the choice to give it up. This is NOT regular NBA basketball. You don't wait for teammates to set you up. You just play to have fun and makes things happen. That's what the other 22 (?) players in the game have done. If Steve doesn't want to do that, fine, but to blame the coach is ridiculous. Francis is the one that hesistated on 2 3pters. He's the one who dribbled in circles and was forced to pass. It's up to him to make things happen when he has the ball and he hasn't. Therefore, other people will play. It's really not a big deal.
DOES THIS KIND OF REMIND YOU OF EDDIE GRIFFIN? For all that stated (when the season started) that he did not deserve time, since he did not play well. Look at Francis in his first all star game. He knows these guys, but has probably never really played with them, and he looks confused in the offense (the limited minutes he got). This give me a new perspective on Eddies slow start. DID YOU HEAR DON NELSONS WIFE, said that Don should play Steve & Dirk more!!!!
Unless Steve's really too messed up to play, I think Nellie should stick him back out there for the final minutes so he can get a FG.
WTF did Walton just say? "Remember what Hakeem Olajuwon said during the Rockets championship run, humble but hungry" He is a crackhead. Hakeem said, "Stay Humble, Stay Hungry." I got the poster at my house with that saying on there. Oh and Steve "Snapper" Jones - what a punk. "Francis make up your mind, if you got one of those migraines then ask them for a layup."
I was thinking, "Watch him airball this..." and then he bricks it off the glass as Snapper and Bill Walton crack jokes at his expense. At this point, I think it may be better if he sits on the bench.
Major is right people. Francis just looked bad. Whether it was his health, or whatever, he looked ridiculous with all that behind the back between the legs crap. He didn't force any action. People like to blame Rudy for the Rockets' boring offense, but Rudy wasn't there tonight, and Francis was the only one playing boring.
Don Nelson = Lenny Wilkins. Well, maybe an exaggeration, but I'll never forgive Lenny for the way he treated Hakeem at the Olympics. I'm more embarassed for Steve than anything. Better luck next year (I hope).
Well, all I have to say is that Steve Francis is a first-year All Star, and it showed. I don't think his next appearance there will be quite as subpar. Overall, I thought he did a good job of getting other guys the ball and keeping the offense flowing. He also did a decent job rebounding. He just couldn't get the shots to fall. Snapper Jones is a jerk, though, for making a joke out of his migraines. I'd like to punch that guy in the dome and give him a migraine and see how he plays. I wish NBC would get a clue and get rid of that guy. What a loser. Plus, listening to him and Walton sit there and bicker is some kind of sick idea of entertainment. A lot of times, I just turn the sound off when I'm watching NBC games just so I don't have to listen to their BS.
NO ONE WANTED TO SEE NASH PLAY THE WHOLE ******* GAME! Steve asked for the ball numerous times, but Kobe and Garnett wouldn't pass to him. The only time he got the ball to have a chance to score was when his teammates had to be bailed out. Steve never got into the flow of the game. **BTW - - as I was watching the beautiful Alicia Keys I was having a daydream that Destiny's Child performs w/ Stevie, Cat, and Eddie jerseys on in the '05 NBA Finals.
