Granted, he said were it a regular season game he could have played, but playing with tendonitis only makes the condition worse. He is experiencing this after 14 days of practice, how will he condition affect him in mid December?

He has had shoulder problems, soreness in his knees, headaches, and now this!!

When do you begin to worry?

Francis had 12 practices in 6 days coming out of the offseason.

All players are going to have soreness, sprains, etc.

I dont think its anything to be concerned about. :D

I agree with Cordell, the foot problem is probably nothing more than needing a little rest after a hard camp.

I will admit, that I am concerned though. I hope he puts a lot of fears to rest this season.

Sounds like you have already begun to worry... It will be OK. Steve has said that it is not HIS choice NOT to play. I think you forget that Steve is the kind of player that WANTS to play, no matter what the pain. He once had to have someone drive him to the stadium because his headaches were so bad and he STILL played. He has played though migrains and WILL play through whatever elese is ailing him!
When the headlines read "STEVE FRANCIS OUT FOR THE REST OF THE SEASON," THEN, you can worry. Otherwise, don't sweat it! Steve is tougher than you realize.

    ;)

He is just sore....BIG FRICKEN DEAL !!!!

Rudy is always cautious with his players, especially in the preseason..where NOTHING matters.

Save it for the regular season.

    Sheesh....mountains out of mole hills.

Wake up DD, if Rudy were cautious with his players in pre-season would he play Fragile for 35+ minutes in the first pre-season game???

Last year Stevie ranked 4th in NBA with 41 min per game, that will be harder on SF than will 2 a days for 7 days!!

Steve has already said that if this game was during the regular season, he would definately play.

I realize that these are only meaningless pre-season games, but the players also have very little chemistry together due to last season's injuries and should be using these games as good practice instead of skipping them. I realize it's probably the coaching staff keeping Steve out of tonite's game, but he probably knew that would happen if he mentioned any soreness. He shoulda just kept his mouth shut!!

I am not singling you out, but it is a bit ridiculous that some one can not make a statement or ask a question without some one immediately saying its bashing. I am CONCERNED!! I did not say that "SF sux b/c he is sore." I did not say, "SF is a puss." I didn't even say, "SF is soft," I simply asked when do we become concerned.

Statements like that remind me of people who just do not have a legit opinion. This is not a conspiracy against SF, its simply a question as to what point we become concerned.

Every comment that is not stating, "SF is the greatest" or "SF is #1" SHOULD NOT be referred to as BASHING. When you do that you are in essence crying wolf and the validity of your views on true bashing are minimized b/c you think EVERYTHING is bashing.

(on a much much much MUCH smaller scale, but similar to those who claim racism when there is none)

I wonder how good his off-season conditioning is?

Not bashing, I honestly do not know.

Maybe you should re-think the title of your posts, then..."Stevie Fragile" sure doesn't sound like you're "concerned". He's always high on the NBA list in minutes per game, played 77 and 80 games his first two seasons in the league, and has played games WITH migraines, so he's far from "fragile"

He's a BASKETBALL player! OF COURSE he's going to have aches and pains. Let's see you play against NBA competition three times per week and not get a little sore. When do we begin to worry? Gawd, I don't know?? When he misses 15 straight games and we go 1-14 during that stretch? When he tears his ACL?

OK, I hereby exonerate you of the charge of Steve Bashing, and replace it with one count of asking a stupid question...

Not to be a pessimist, but that's how it always starts: "*insert player* has soreness in his *insert body part*." I hate those words. Kind of like "Steve Francis is having soreness in his shoulder." Four weeks later he's getting surgery. This is probably nothing, but still something I don't like to hear.

Tendinitis is just another way of saying your sore. I get sore from getting out of bed so this is no big deal.

Well thank you and I exonerate you of the false claim of SF bashing and replace it with a felony charge of being a homer!

Well, I'm the Bruce Willis of Die Hard Homers... should we trade him to the Knicks for Allen Houston and a can of peas?? The guy didn't have his usual offseason. He had shoulder surgery, rehab, and a host of aches and pains to get over. He had a new diet to adjust to (which can be a trip by itself) and he has 12 practices in 6 days? I'd be in a wheelchair. Honestly, I think it's something about nothing until proven otherwise. (and if it's otherwise you'll find out about it here)
