his assists would be a lot higher if things occurred: -Griffin's shooting % increases to say 43% from 37%..this would help tremendously -Cato learns to dunk v layups that get blocked (he has 4 layups blocked on feeds from Francis v GS) and his % increases to last year's -the rest of team's % increases to accetable area: Currently the team minus Mobley and Francis shoots a dismal 37% or thereabouts..
Top ten in turnovers: Glenn Robinson...5.3 Pau Gasol....4.6 Jason Terry....4.4 Stephon Marbury...4.4 Steve Francis....4.2 Chris Webber....4.2 Kobe Bryant....4.1 Antoine Walker....3.8 Allan Houston....3.4 Darius Miles....3.4 Yeah, all these guys suck. Who would want them on our team???
Point well made...it can be added that Cato draws hard fouls underneath, because of his poor free throw shooting...No assists for free throws....!!!!
actually, Cato is shooting quite well this year...11/15 so far! I know what you are saying though. They think he cannot hit it and it will probably decrease to his career average as times goes on. What is interesting so far this year is Cat's shooting % is 45% and Griffin's 3 pt % is 50%+... Seriously though, if Cato dunks twice and Griffin hits a few more Js, Francis's assists average would be 8...which is very very respectable for a guy scoring 30 and 6 rebounds....this would make him the best overall PG in the league no doubt.... let's starting hitting our Js....
This is the first I've ever heard of a Hack-a-Cato strategy. Actually, I think Cato is one of the better free throw shooting centers in the league.
MVP MVP MVP MVP.... What's really impressive is his FG%. Over 50% for a guard nowadays is incredible.
Well, this doesn't look too good. Ranks #1 in the NBA in Field Goals Per 48 Minutes(13.36) I want to know who ranked #2 in this department.
Yeah, making field goals is a bad thing. McGrady is second, but I'm sure he's a ballhog as well. We don't need him.
Please, stubborn head, don't deny the fact that SF has missed many opportunities to pass the ball to open man in previous games. I wish I could have had the video clips as evidence. If you think you're objective enough, why not pull out the rankings of other teamates in this field goal attempts. If you think the higher ranking in FGA is always a good thing, then I'm sure other ones in Rox were doing very bad. Could they shoot the ball? Of course, they could. Did they have the chances? The stats answer this question themselves.
High FG attempts are only a problem if you don't make 50% of them. Francis has taken what the defense has given him. I was watching the some of the old rockets playoff games and Hakeem took over 30 shots per game in almost every game. Was that too much???
This reminds me of a remark I once read about Jamal Mashburn and the "defense" he plays and how hard he hits the boards: '...Jamal Mashburn has never fouled out of a game, and he never will...' You have to expect a few TOs when a player is consistently aggressive.
