I've never seen a guy on the recieving end of so much hatred for saying "oh." It's funny because many of you probably said the exact same thing.
My hatred for his sorry ass stated many years ago and it was toped off by the slang remarks he said about Yao a few years ago...
that is looking good, Altough i do not want to be reminded of the one serie we lost. that was a heartbreaker for me don't make it two heartbreakers. Go Rockets
I think you mean derogatory. Of course he, like many people in this country, didn't know that chinese people view it as a racial slur and he apologised.
Stats like this make no sense to me. I mean sure, that's pretty impressive, but...the teams involved in each of those series was different. Do I hope that this current team holds up the trend, SURE...but of the latest playoff series (not just 18, assuming they lose some game 1's)...and ONLY counting the ones where they won the FIRST game, they are 17-1...i mean really, who comes up with these useless statistics? With that in mind, I hope the rockets show the world something in these playoffs.
What the stats say is, the better teams almost always win the 1st game. Which is equivalent to saying if you win the 1st game, it is likely that you are the better team.
i hear ya, but singling it to just the rockets is implying that there is some constant there from before and now. Saying overall in the nba's playoff history winners of game one win the series, sure, I can buy that...by being specific about one franchise it's like they are implying that there is more to it than the better team tends to win the first game... sure, i'm over-analyzing it, but oh well
Statistically speaking roxgirl is kinda right. If you consider series as a sample then outcome of each series is an independent event. If its an independent event then the outcome of previous series has no implication on current series.
True, but when broken down to game terms, there are other factors involved that benefit from winning game 1, such as momentum and maintaining/stealing homecourt advantage. It's more of a psychological advantage than a statistical one.
