Doctor (that's right, we said Doctor) Steve Francis talks about "The Blacktop Line" in his latest journal for AthleteNow What's up, everyone? Thanks for coming back to my site. I'm having a busy summer, so let me catch you up on what's been going on. I'm involved with something pretty cool right now. Reebok has launched a new line of shoes and apparel that I'm the spokesperson for. It's called "The Blacktop Line." As you might guess from the name, it's mainly geared towards athletes who like to kick it outdoors. The whole thing is kind of a dream come true. When I was growing up, everyone wore Air Jordans, and now I've got a shoe of my own! So I'm doing all kinds of publicity for that. We've got a couple of different TV commercials running. I'm playing Dr. Steve Francis in the Blacktop Unit, and I really enjoyed putting those together. I couldn't stop laughing on the set! I'm also doing a seven-city tour promoting the Blacktop Line. Maybe you can catch up with me at one of the stops. I'll give details on that later. I'm also hosting an outdoor basketball tournament in June called the Steve Francis Reebok Blacktop Tournament. We're going to have a slam dunk contest and everything! I'll be sure to give more details here on my site at AthleteNow. The dates for that are June 10-11 and June 17-18, and we're doing it at Banneker Outdoor Court in Washington D.C. Then later in June, I'm hosting the Steve Francis Basketball Camp. That's open to boys and girls entering grades 3-12, and the dates for that are June 26-30 in Houston. I'll have more info about that on the site as well. But you don't have to live in Houston to have a chance to hook up with me. As I told you before, I'm in the middle of that seven-city tour. I'm appearing at the following Foot Lockers: May 31 Atlanta (Greenbriar Mall World Foot Locker) June 1 Detroit (Eastland Mall Foot Locker) June 2 Chicago (State Street Mall Foot Locker) June 3 Houston (Willowbrook Mall Foot Locker) June 5 Los Angeles (Beverly Center Foot Locker) All of my appearances will be from 3:30-4:30 pm. If you get a chance, come down and introduce yourself. I love mixing it up with fans. Maybe you can pick up some shoes, too. They're pretty ill. I wouldn't put my name on them if they weren't. Thanks again for stopping by. Don't forget to e-mail me if you want to. I do read them! Steve P.S. There's my luck for me. He actually shows up at a Houston Foot Locker and I find out about it after it's over so I can't go. ------------------ Cheaters never win. Unless you play for LA that is.
I thought he would be spending every last minute of the summer with his grandmother... ------------------
When is his appearance at the Mall of Canada? ------------------ There better be a statue of Hakeem outside of the new downtown arena.
He even reads our e-mail...what a guy! How many other athletes out there can say the same? I wonder what kind of stuff he gets...hehe . Surf ------------------
Moe, the asterisk is actually a 2-fold joke. 1. All my buddies give me hell about the Rockets 2 championships, Jordan wasn't around (he was for the second one)so the Rockets should have an asterisk next to thier titles. 2. I moved from Houston 11 years ago, big mistake, I forgot I hated snow
[GEEK MODE : ON] Don't listen to him. He's just trying to wreak havoc with any dynamic SQL queries that Clutch may execute. [GEEK MODE : OFF] ------------------ Just shut up and post
Planning on taking some tomatoes with you SkyPilot? ------------------ We need some meat in the post!
Can I spend my last night with Fiona Apple before Clutch executes me? I do get a last request, right? [This message has been edited by BobFinn* (edited June 06, 2000).]
