Now, all year long there have been those of you who have bashed Steve non-stop. And of course those of you who have him in every trade idea you have. But have you ever wondered why we lost so many games without him? He was our team this year, without him the Rockets plain sucked. Now maybe the reason he didn't play as well as he had in other years was the migraines, but i believe it was because he thought he had to score all the points. With Mo Taylor and Rice out for the year, and Mobley being so much iso, he was "needed" to score. Now with the team healthy next year (knock on wood) maybe he understands his role more. He is our point guard for years and years to come. With more scoring options on the court, he won't turn the ball over. And the progression of Eddie Griffin, this team will be deadly. And another thing, why all the Mo Taylor bashing? He is a work in progress, he will only get better. Next year is the Rockets year.
I don't question the Rockets are a better team with Francis. What I do question is if we can ever win a title with Francis as the man.
No. One superstar will not win it all. Shaq had Kobe , Tim had Robinson. Hakeem had some extreme clutch role players. Elie, Horry, Cassell, Drexler, Thorpe, etc....
I think he ment if his leadership as a PG can take us there. i do believe he can. He will prove that next year
I still don't know what happened with Francis last week. I remember, ZRB posted something negative about Steve after the Utah Jazz game and then got completely bashed all over the place by seemingly everyone on the board. Two days later, half the board was calling for a Francis trade. Go figure.
I'll be the witness because I believe that the Rockets will make the playoffs next year. If we can get Francis completely healthy and Taylor will be back next year and hopefully a decent draft pick and not a blunder like we had last year...I'm sure we'll make the playoffs.
I don't think there's any question that the rox will make the playoffs next season.. barring major health issues like this season of course. This season has just been horrible and they're all outta sync. GO ROX! ooooh, can I be a witness too?
I hate saying this....It hurts saying this....but, i don't think the Rockets will make the playoffs next year either.....Unless, Steve and Cuttino really put there game to the next level....Now don't get me wrong, maybe with Maurice better...and a few other changes that will be made, we will make it....but I don't want to see are team just making the playoffs....big deal....I'm looking at the big picture....I want to see a team that is Finals Bound....Now that is gonna take some time.......
One thing those superstars all have in common is that they never won, until they grasped the team concept. I'm hoping Stevie can too. Those role players you mentioned are worthless, if the superstar doesn't place faith in them. Also, there hasn't been a superstar PG who has won a title since Isaiah Thomas, back in 1990.
I believe the Rockets will make the playoffs next year. Believe it or not, I picked the Rockets to place 4th in the West this year! (that was in the offseason) Just think... Stevie is one of, if now these best penetrator in the game... look at how many people we'll have that can hit the open J? Walt...Glen..EG...Cat...and KT is becomming an outstanding perimeter player. So many people want to trade Cato, but I like his enthusiastic. He brings nothing but hard work and hustle to the floor. The begining of the season he was lacking that, but the 2nd half he really turned it on. If we can pick up Rashard Lewis in the offseason, then wonderful.. if not then it's not the end of the world. The losses the Rockets have encountered this year WITH Stevie in the lineup is I believe because of his turnovers. In some games its just ridiculous at the turnovers he gets. I believe the main cause of that is 60% hearing lossage in his right ear. Paul Childres
