I live in LA and I was out to dinner in Beverly Hills tonight and who did I sit next to but Steve Francis. I went over and said hello to him. Here is how our conversation went: Me: Hey Mr. Francis I really admire you as a player SF: Hey whats up? Me: So what are you doing in LA? SF: Oh just over here to see a couple of friends and then I'll get back to Houston. Me: Who do you think is going to be your coach next year? SF: I just dont know, We'll just have to see how it all plays out Me: Are you dissapointed about seeing Rudy leave? SF: Yeah, but I'm sure our new coach will be great and Rudy will still be with the Rockets. Me: Thanks so much, good luck to you next season SF: Yeah no problem, thanks. Really nice guy!!!
Yeah the dude is cool. I threw a few drinks down with him at Ling & Javier's about a little over a year ago. I was there with my now ex, and he says right in front of her: "Why you gotta bring your girl out?" I tried to play it cool by saying that she was cool with whatever I did, but he wouldnt stop hounding me about it. Then when I got back from the restroom the dude was hitting on her.... I was pissed but honored in a wierd way. Cat was the coolest (pardon the pun) guy to talk to though. I could tell that he really loved Houston, the Rockets, and being part of the "best backcourt in the league". Francis was a bit of a hothead at the bar. Willis pretty much hated me from the get-go. Ok Im rambling.... Cool that you saw him! Was he with Beyonce?
Ahh the scent of an agent and PR people at work. I don't miss it but I know it when I smell it. Then again, what else is he going to tell a random fan... Not bashing Steve, just admiring the work of professionals doing damage control after the initial outburst.
Cool! It doesn't sound that real..but I'll believe it! That's awesome! And I thought Beyonce was with Jay-Z..... Steve Francis was hitting on your ex.......lol.....honored in a weird way. Well he's not mad about the coaching situation! That's good...
yeah he wasnt with Beyonce and even if hes mad with the coaching situation, like QUITTAN said, its all PR
Good job there Francis with the choice of words and response. Maybe Francis should teach Lebron's agent a little bit of diplomacy and calculated responses.
wow, my friend who actually met him had the opposite experience. My friend used to work at subway and Steve Francis comes in there and just slams down a dollar on the counter and says "Water". When my friend tried to say "heeeey...its Steve Francis", Francis just goes "Yeah...". I dunno, my friend said Francis was an jerk.
Sounds like he might have been just in a bad mood and your friend happend to be in the wrong place at the wrong time.
