ast. with the end of the season comming do any of u think steve will get his ast. # up to 7 a game? i really think he can. steve has been playing very good team basketball and is becoming one of the best young pgs in the game right infront of our eyes. next year he will avg. 21pts/7.5ast/6reb. if the rockets make the playoffs they will beat the mavricks, im 99.1% sure of it.
...if Dirk Nowitski was forced back to Germany, Steve Nash was forced back to Canada, and Michael Finley broke his foot...
I changed the subject of your thread from "ast." to "Steve Francis' Assists" so as to give people a clue as to what it's about.
Stevie is doing great. He had an 11 asist night the other night, and then last night 9 asists. and ...38pts to boot!!! Franchise rocks!
His assists r improving and that is great. I doubt that he'll make the 7 ast. mark tho.....he might next year. He is doign a good job leading the team regardless of the stats. He has the ability to carry the entire team on the back and if other players r going he tries to share the ball. It's exciting to watch him drilling 17-ft jumpers.....sweet
I think when you take into consideration the fact that Steve's career assist average is 6.4 and he is showing marked improvement in getting others involved in the last week or two....getting to 7 per game is not outside the realm of possibility. Maybe not by the end of the season, but ya never know. He only played 25 minutes last night, and got 3...if he had played his usual amount of minutes..he would have easily got 8-9 imo..
It's not all about the stats... I bet Stevie would trade all of his stats for a playoff run... I think it'll happen this year and I know they can beat the Fakers and the Spurs...
Who knows, he might pull it off. I would like to see his asst improve to anything over 7 a game. I'd be happy with that. It'd be nice for him to be in the top 5 in asst consistently. BTW I think if we play the mavericks we could take them to at least make a series out of it. They don't respect us and with the exception of this year we usually take it to them. Maybe I should be, but I'm not afraid of them. For now though let's focus on getting in the playoffs.
As someone who have called SF out many times, I am pleased to say that, in my book, he has been the best pg in the league in March, 2003, so far. He is shooting 50% from the field, his assists are up and turnovers are down, the team is winning and the team is scoring.
You guys think we have a chance vs. the Mavs? Personally, I just wish something happens to shake the rankings up. We match up well against Sacramento, but Dallas has had our number all season. The first match-up vs. Dallas was good, but the next three were an embarassment. I think the Rockets match up WORST vs. Dallas now, for whatever reason.
