I love Steve and Cat, but I heard bout a trade involving Steve+Cat for Kobe. As much as I'd hate to see 2 of my 3 favorite players go (the other being Yao) and seeing a rival in our uniform, it would probably make us better. Kobe+Yao, forget about it, it's over. What yall think?

That idea was floated three years ago when Kobe was having so many problems with his coach and teammates.

Or are you suggesting SF & Cat head to LA to finish off the Wolves while Kobe takes an early vacation?

Kobe has been saying he wants to prove he can win a championship on his own w/o shaq, and he might ask for a trade, I doubt it - but it's a possiblility.

If for some reason we could get Kobe for Steve and Cat, I would be ecstatic. Kobe could go down as the 2nd or 3rd best sg in the history of the game.

He wants to win a championship on his own, so he comes to the Rockets where Yao Ming is. OK.

Yao is more of a team player than shaq Dr. Shaq wants 30 a game while Yao will be fine with 18. I see Yao averaging 18/12/4-5asts/3blks alongside Kobe if he were to come here.

I bet if, and that is a big if, Kobe goes anywhere, he will end up with Memphis. Doesn't he have a good relationship with Jerry West?

Newsflash -- you heard it wrong. It will never happen in 1 million years.

    Kobe + Yao <<<<<<<<<<<<<<<< Kobe + Shaq.

Yao himself admitted than he will never reach Shaq's level.

The only possibility I see Kobe + Yao happens is you guys keep screwing things up and Yao sign with Lakers in 3 years when Shaq retires -- and trust me the chance of this happening is much greater than whatever news you just posted.

True, but why would Kobe ask to be traded to a team with ANOTHER dominant -- potentially domintant -- big' if he truly wants to prove he can "win on his own?" The whole reasoning for Kobe possibly (it ain't gonna happen, BTW) not re-upping with the Lake Show is to prove he can carry a team much like Michael Jordan did with the Bulls (with no All-Star center).

BTW -- this thread is hilarious! Soon as I saw the title "Francis+Cat for Kobe" I laughed! In order to truly have a shot @ getting Kobe, we (the Rockets) would have to give them (the Lakers) Yao+Francis. Then the LAL would have yet ANOTHER dominant inside-outside duo for their franhise:

    West-Wilt
    Kareem-Magic
    Shaq-Kobe
    Yao-Francis

Funny how we have had countless threads/post this season asking "Who is the team's best player," "What player should HOU decide to bulid itself around?" etc. But other franchises -- especially the Lakers -- can somehow welcome TWO gifted players, one in the post and one on the perimeter, who end up being pretty damn good duos. *lol* The Rockets org. and coaches will hopefully realize what they have in #11 and #3 and try to build around them. Maybe that'll come with the trade of Mobley/EG/Taylor/etc.?

Another, BTW -- if Kobe goes anywhere he'd go to Memphis to be with his mentor Jerry West. West is the guy who scouted Kobe HEAVILY and told everyone that laghed @ Kobe when he was putting up airballs in the playoffs as a rook' and alienating his 'mates, etc. he would make everyone (except West of course) do a complete 180' in a few years.

Oh yeah, and West was the architect behind the Lakers rape job of the Hornets that sent then CHA Vlade Divac and a bucket of KFC for Bryant. Even worse than the trade itself is that Vlade would be traded to the Kings later in his career where he now has a legit shot @ winning a title or two and the Hornets can now be the first all the Mardi Gras festivities. :D

I'd do it! Please! Francis+Mobley for Kobe? Hell yeah, but get real. I'd do Francis+Mobley+Griffin+Rice for Kobe.

I'd bet most would do a Yao-Mobley for Kobe.

I remember talking to friends of mine and reading on message boards on ESPN, Yahoo of ppl salivating over the thought of a Francis-Kobe backcourt.

Would any of you do that? I don't know if I would or not.
