very possible. but they might simply talk about it as an era of tremendous offense and leave the unproven accusations be. people don't usually like to tarnish the past (especially when it was their era when they got to experience it) and often glorify it (like the 1000 homer comment) so this could all remain unmentioned. now if huge stars start testing positive left and right we might get that, but as it is now, i think the latter stands a good chance to prevail.

The current era of baseball won't be tainted in 50 years, hell look at the Black Sox scandel and other throwings of games in the early 20th century... people rarely bring it up because the actions of a couple of players can't possibly taint the play of hundreds of great players during the era.

I don't know all the details of the cases or the league policy on steroids, but it's my understanding that baseball didn't ever test for steroids. If you don't test for something, that means you think it's okay to do. If it's okay, then the records should stay.

they tested them last year. There has been talk that the government may force MLB to release all the records of those who tested positive.

Of course not. But I think if proof is found he and others were doing steroids, the punishment should be severe.

Remember that pitchers are taking steroids as well.

It's pretty much agreed that steroids don't benefit pitchers, because you don't necessarily want bulk.

Barry Bonds did steriods for sure, but I don't think it should tarnish his home runs, because everyone of those homers whould have left the yard by atleast a foot or two even without using steriods.

Who cares? If that was the case, he shouldn't have used them anyway (this is all hypothetically assuming he did).

I agree with bama - if tests say a player used them, they should be gone. Period. Unfortunately, MLB's rules are so weak that you have to get caught like 5 times to get a 1 year suspension. It's a complete joke.

Steroids don't necessarily have to bulk you up, there are many things they can do to provide an edge - faster recovery, stamina, etc. Regardless pitches are bulking up - compare pitches of today with their conterparts 2 decades ago and you will find the same results as you do with the other positions. Pitchers are doing everything they can to gain an edge and that includes steroid use.

You don't know much about steroids then. They're used for much more than "bulking up." One of the most important things is that it allows you to come back from injuries and recover very fast. You can come back from very serious injuries with the stuff.

If they never tested Bonds, then he'll never be caught. THG is the tip of the iceberg. Designer steroids aren't going to be caught. Especially with MLB's half-assed testing program.

I don't know why steroids are demonized anyway. If steroids were eliminated from all sports, they would not be nearly as exciting. Also, it's not a "shortcut" as Bush was saying. The players on are working just as hard if not harder than clean players.
