There is not one player on this roster with the ceiling of Curry. Plain and simple.

Basketball team building, asset management, synergy and trading techniques are never plain and simple. Trying to argue that we should go get a guy at any cost because he has a high ceiling is just plain dumb.

If he was everything this thread is making him out to be, then 1.) GS would have a better record than us and 2.) he wouldnt be available.

I never said we should sell the farm for curry, but To suggest it is not worth pursuing a player (who has proven competitive at the NBA level with potential to be elite) in fear of disrupting the synergy of a mediocre team which is not going to make playoffs is stupid.

When we are talking about his ceiling, it's not a raw ability thing lime Hassan whiteside who has never seen the court- Curry has shown alot very early on; I believe you undervalue this.

I dont undervalue his ceiling, but you guys have delussions of grandeur which arent realistic.

    Basketball is two things:
    1.) How well you score
    2.) How well you defend

We are excellent at scoring. We are terrible at defending. Blowing a bunch of assets for Curry is not going to make us better because we already score the ball well. Sure it would be nice to say "hey we have Curry!" but it would be better to hold off until we can use our assets for an impact player on the defensive end.

How would you feel if we got Curry AND Biedrins? Stud PG/SG and defensive center, both young and while Biedrins is a bad contract, Curry is a steal on his rookie contract.

Our argument here boils down to Need vs. Opportunity.

You seem to believe we are a defensive presence away from a deep playoff run. I would disagree. Therefore, I see no reasons to let our collection of assets deppreciate (like scola and battier) in leau of going after a kid who can make the all-star game in a couple years.
