Well it shows the majority of voters picked medium rare, now for my other question which has had no responses: is it safe to eat rare steaks?
E-coli bacteria only exists on the outside portion of the steak; as long as that part is cooked thoroughly the steak should be okay to eat.
It depends on where I'm at. If I'm at a really nice steakhouse or at home, I'll eat it medium rare. If I'm at a place like Outback, I'll usually go medium. This is only because places like Outback are never consistent with how long they cook it. I've ordered medium before that looked well done, and other times it has been really rare. Anybody that orders a steak well done should just order a hamburger instead. You're ruining the flavor and wasting your money. You're also losing the respect of everyone around you..
I guess some of you don't eat sushi either ~ the only meat that should be served well done is jerky. Wagyu beef would really freak some of you guys out (it's prepared like tuna).
i like my steak to stop mooing. I think i like it when the meat is still pink, but its not soft and rare you know? it's just colored pink, but the meat is cooked through, if that makes any sense.
That doesn't sound possible. If you let a steak sit out for a week and then just char the outside quickly and eat it, you'll get sick as hell...I guarantee it.
Which would make the people around me lose their respect for me faster, eating a steak well done or throwing up on the people around me because I ate a steak rare. I hope you enjoy your bloody dinner.
Some of you guys need to get your intestines checked for worms. Well done for me. I may go medium well next time, though.
medium(medium well?).....cooked thru but with just a touch of pink in the middle. rare is digusting. Im talking Fear Factor disgusting.....
