Funny. I was over at friends house last night and told him "Brooks is going to be my new whipping boy" only to find this gem when I woke up this morning and logged on.
Why does anyone insist that Lowry ends the game? Lowry can't shoot.... I would rather have Brooks finish the game and Lowry start the game. If Yao gets doubled, Brooks can hit the 3 ball, Lowry cannot, well he can't consistently like Brooks can. Lowry is clearly the better PG, but Brooks is the better shooter. We need shooting in the 4th quarter.
Watch the games. It's obvious who is the better closer. Brooks' shooting is very overrated. He is not consistent at all.
The thing is neither of them are that consistent. Lowry plays just like how Aaron Brooks played before taking over the starting position, at times he scores and at times he doesn't. Since taking over the starters job, Brooks hasn't always scored as well as he used to but he is getting more assists. I don't get why people don't understand, both of these guys are works in progress.
I think our pgs are not great but fine. On the other side, no offence to Battier,we all know that he's great guy, defensive-minded. But he has been " Chuck Hayes" on offense. No doubt, he can slow down the opponent's main scorer but he definitely needs to contribute some points as well. What I usually see is he always camps at the three-point line and waits for the pass to knock down a three. In yesterday's game, he seemed to be disappeared on offense, which made us like 4 vs 5. We can definitely beat jazzholes and I think he's the key !
True, however. He is much more of a threat than Lowry. Lowry is like Rondo while Brooks is like Eddie House One clearly has the better Point guard skills, the other clearly has the better shooting skills. I want Lowry to start and play much more minutes, I really could careless who finishes. I think Brooks is more proven to finish games though.
thats exactly right....i think eventually they will go that route...Yao just plays better with Lowry because the tempo is more to his liking...brooks runs better and should come off as a spark
I don't get how you don't get that Lowry has been a more effective player for the Rockets. Unlike Brooks, Lowry does not depend on his long range shot to be an effective player on the court. Nobody argued that Lowry is a consistent shooter but he is certainly a better all-around player and a better decision maker than Brooks.
Yep, and that's what the Rockets' starting lineup needs. Smart decision making, pass-first PG, and a consistent player. Aaron Brooks is the Eddie House of this team, While Lowry is the Rajon Rondo. And just like House, The only thing Brooks has over Lowry is his shooting. Everything else Lowry is better, just like Rondo. I love Aaron Brooks, but he's a bench player and he needs to spark off the bench, not facilitate this team.
If we are talking about one play where the Rockets need a three point shot to win then Brooks is the guy. If we are talking about closing out a game that is not down to one or two plays then Lowry is definitely the guy.
Are you serious?? House is a SHOOTER. Brooks is a SCORER. It's not the same. House does nothing but spot up, with an occasion drive and stop and pop, Brooks shoots, drives, can hit a j from anywhere, and finish with a variety of moves.
Everytime Brooks drives, he gets rejected. It's not like he drives and dishes like a Kyle Lowry or a Rajon Rondo. Brooks is a scorer, I do agree on that part. We do not 4 scorers in the starting lineup. We need someone who can set up the offense and facilitate it and that's Kyle Lowry. Aaron Brooks needs to bring in points from the bench, not in the starting lineup Period.
Although I did like Baron Davis in the past. He's an injury prone player now and we already have to deal with it currently. Not to mention he shoots low FG%. Davis ain't coming, I hope you were joking though
Just like Artest last year, where there's smoke there's fire. It's obvious to me that the Rockets are interested in Baron, and he would be a huge upgrade at what is our weakest position. He has the size and the speed to compete with Williams, Rondo, Billups, etc. I say offer the Clips TMac's contract, plus Brooks and Dorsey, in exchange for Baron and Camby. Then sign Artest to a one year deal with a small raise (use what was Luther Head's money). PG: Davis / Lowry SG: Artest / Barry SF: Battier / Wafer PF: Scola / Landry C: Yao / Camby That lineup is a true contender.
