the only downside to the trip is that i start work on monday at 6:00 AM. but yeah, kinda gettin stoked about it. hopefully it turns out. i'll either leave tomorrow morning at 2:00 or not...we'll see.
I'm not a big hockey fan but the most entertaining game that I've seen was in this year's playoffs during the Flames v. Red Wings game. It was incredible; something like nine minutes of straight heavily intense defense and crashing of the boards in a nothing, nothing tie with no stoppage. From that point on, I've been telling my friends that Calgary is going to win it all.
Tough setback last night. I'm having problems sleeping. Grizzled, all I know is that NHL hockey could definitely improve if they could just get rid of the damn two-line pass. I think it would be better for attracting a new audience with more odd-man rushes, scoring opportunities, etc.,......judging from the posts on this board, there are plenty of people who don't really care right now, and I think that higher scoring and more scoring opportunities would do more to excite people. Other than that idea--yeah, Go Flames. They've done it the hard way all playoffs, and let's hope they can stay hot on the road.
I'm still in the Tampa camp (I want Andreychuk to get on the Cup), but will not be upset if Calgary wins. I got my wish, this goes to 7. I'm a DIEHARD NBA fan, and NFL is second on my list, but there is no sporting event, NOT ONE, that is better than Game 7 of the Stanley Cup finals. Not one.
Looks like the Flames are done. I just don't think they are going to rebound from a devastating loss.
Well, the last Stanley Cup Final game I watched had the Flames in it, I think it was 1987 or 1988 ... so I reckon I'll give it a look tomorrow. Still is no better live sport, outside of hoops.
I can't wait until tonight...Wish I knew some Dallas peps so we could meet at a sports bar... Go Flames!!!
Well, thanks for compliment. I think there were a number of us, you and me and a number of others, who were seeing things in very similar ways. I’m not sure what in particular you were reading but if it’s the part about being careful to think through what the real objectives are, the long term objectives and not just the most obvious short term objective, then that was my project management classes paying off. That’s only what I would classify as intermediate PM knowledge though, so it’s more than a little alarming that this administration doesn’t seem to have understood what was for a bunch of sports fans on a basketball BBS not all that difficult to understand. (Hmmm, best take this to D&D at this point. )
Yeah, that’s a similar idea to what I’m talking about. That would open up the game too, but my preference would be to make the ice surface bigger because I that would create more space behind the blue lines too, which would restore more of the passing and playmaking to powerplays too, and limit the endless cycling that goes on in the corners now. And the Flames aren’t done yet! I have noticed that quite a few of the players have slowed down though. I think we’ve got some injuries, but this is it. There are no more games after this. The adrenaline will be coursing through the veins tonight. GO FLAMES!
I totally forgot this was on tonight ~ nothing like a world championship game 7 to occupy an otherwise boring rainy monday night.
Not over yet, but Calgary needs to CALM DOWN! I thought they would be the ones that would be playing cool and composed. This is confusing. Those first 8 minutes were just weird.
The Belmont Stakes, especially when you have a horse going for the triple crown. I am being dead serious here.
