    Hey guys,

Sorry for not posting and keeping everyone informed about me being at the games or not. Work has been hell the last few weeks and doesn't seem to be letting up. I'm still going to try to be there tonight and through the rest of the season, but I just don't know for sure if the job will allow it or not yet.

My knee was brought up earlier in this thread. It's still not right. It's been I think three weeks since the last time I was out there playing all those pick up games, it swelled up some for a few days afterwards and it just now feels some what recovered from that night. Three freaking weeks. So, that's my other concern for playing the games.

But, if I can get around my job, I plan on still giving it a go.

I did want to post and let everyone know so, if y'all feel like y'all need to get someone else that will be more reliable in my place, you can. I'll completely understand.

Anyway, hopefully I'll see y'all tonight, otherwise good luck.

    Well mogrod that sucks.

I was hoping that if something was keeping you from the games it was work, as opposed to a family thing or a health thing, so I guess that's the positive way to look at it. It upsets me to hear that it's still partly due to the knee though. I myself have been fortunate enough *knock on wood* not to have any serious injuries that kept me from playing basketball, but I dread the day that it happens (or that I just get too old). I respect that you don't want to give in. I imagine I'd be the exact same way...play until you just can't anymore.

    Random (related) thought...

Someone posted a "safety first" type of video here in the Hangout the other day in m_cable's video thread and some girl slips while mowing the lawn and her foot slides under the mower and gets mangled (i can only assume). So yesterday I was mowing the lawn and I remembered that video and then I thought to myself "What if that happened to me? What if I lost a foot in a lawn mower?" and honestly the first thing that popped into my head was "I hope I could still play basketball". Not "Would it be uncomfortable to stand on" or "What would people think when they saw it?" or anything like that. Just basketball.

On one hand it's strange to have my priorities in that order, but on the other hand, I can't imagine it being any other way.

Anyway, I hope the knee gets better and maybe we'll all see you out there tonight. I don't think it's one of the bigger/better teams so it might be a good game to jump back in the fold and test the knee.

not quite alone. it's a friend's townhome. i'm too cheap to go out on my own. saving way too much money this way.

but yea, definitely closer to the apts. i've also found another basketball court that i could go regularly. also, one can't underestimate the aesthetic value of memorial park during dusk. and i'm not talking about the park. ;)

ive got some serious scheduling problems here with this league and because of it tonight may be my last game. Im starting my graduate classes on the 21st and they are each monday 7-10 (thats all i could get) AND im going to be out of town this next monday so next week im out, the 14th is a bye week (thats gay) and the 21st i can book it to the game after class but will prolly only be available for the second half and then the 28th ill be in class while you guys are battling. All i can say is that it sux and ill be sure to post but this will at least open up alot of minutes for everyone else....cuz after tonight i may just be the moral support. :( ..ill keep ya posted

thats a big loss if josh isnt able to get the time to come out for the games...add that along with the possibility of mogrod not playing and we lose depth - w/o josh and mogrod, we would only have 1 reserve to give some rest, most likely me lol

should be interesting...wrong time to start losing guys against the competition we are playing c league some nights.

i think our need is a guard who can bring the ball up...and a guy that can spell yao, adam, or stack...preferably someone with size.
