We lost the game but it was the best output by the stalkers. The final score 77-71. YES WE LOST EVEN THOUGH WE SCORED 71 POINTS. We shot nothing but threes. They had the size so it was very difficult for any of us to actually drive in and finish a layup. Clutch was on fire during 2nd half and got us back into the game before the other team over powered us and took the game. None less it was an awesome game and this game should give us confidense that we can surely put up numbers against any team if we set our mind to it.

We lost, but it was actually a game from beginning to end. Back and forth for the first 10 minutes or so, and then they took a single digit lead to the half I think. Then we pulled back within a point or two (maybe even took the lead for a posession or two?) but we came up short in the end. 77-71.

They got a lot of run outs, and their big guys were getting a lot of points on point blank layups. YaoWink suggested a switch to a 2-1-2 zone in the second half and it worked well to clog the middle, although their height and interior passing still made it tough on us. They only had 1 guy that nailed a few 3's, but that's it. Basically we lost because of size, which we really can't be upset about I guess.

On a side note, I hope nobody minded me being more aggressive tonight (a.k.a. shooting a lot). I just haven't been happy with the way I've played in the league(s) and figured I had to make a change. Tonight I made a conscious effort to "let it all hang out" so to speak, and it seemed to work for me. I'm just not used to playing like that, so whether it's warranted or not, I worry a little bit that maybe I was shooting too much. So, sorry if anyone felt that way.

By the way rushour, I had 7 threes so you're going to have to put in 8 if you want the crown back :p (Actually, maybe I'm just imagining this, but did Stack have 8 one time? For some reason it seems like maybe he did...)

Yao, how is the back? I didn't see you grimmacing or anything, and you seemed as mobile as usual out there. In fact I remember you getting up REALLY high on a rebound. Came out of nowhere.

It felt good ... I had played a couple of BS full court games before coming over, and my back was as loose as it has been in over a week. I wasn't really trying to do a lot of jumping or pounding down low, but instincts take over and you "let it all hang out."

That was kind of the reason I thought it wasn't smart for me to play, since I would be easily susceptible to a re-injury.

Too bad we didn't get the game on tape. There were a couple of passes by Adam that I wouldn't mind seeing again. There was also a fake pass by their #1 that I am sure Josh would like to see for the first time. :D

Im glad to hear that yall played well. Im geussing the motto for this season should be "letting it all hang out". Ive been so unmotivated this season and I really cant point out the reason for it...this could suggest my 1 point on the season and going 0-fer in 2 games well into double-digit shots. Im not sure if its limited playing time, the competition, me being rusty, or whatever. If this was any other season, the way I felt last night would of not stopped me from playing. I mean Im sure some of you can notice that Im not into the game...shot is off, Im not penetrating, and there is hardly any effort in rebounding. Trust me Ive thought about this all night and I think Im ready to play now. I not only cant stand to see nothing on the box score but I cant stand looking back on the game and realizing Im not doing anything to help us compete. I used to take charges when I could...flop to the ground when trying to box out a guy bigger than me, and hustle for the most part (as most I could with me fatigue low). Hopefully realizing all this for me brings out a new rush but I can tell you this much, Im ready to play and "let it all hang out".

Good to hear in regards to the back. Also, you're right about that fake pass that Josh fell victim to. Right after it happened I turned to him and said "you're lucky there's no camera tonight". :D

Speaking of no camera, there are also no stats for this week, obviously. Sucks for me since this week's game would have put me at a respectable season 3pt% for the first time since God knows when. Wouldn't have hurt the season scoring average either (I had 30 points which seems unreal for me personally, but I guess 7 three's add up quick, then you sprinkle some two-pointers and a FT in there and bam it's 30 points before you know it.) It sounds easy in retrospect, but there are reasons it's never happened before, and it'll probably never happen ever again! (and as luck would have it, it's not even on tape lol!) :(

Anybody else have any impressive #'s from last night that they want to share? Adam is claiming 18 assists lol (jokingly...sort of...maybe not...I hope) :p

If im not mistaken I had 5 3's and 1 2 point shot that was a nice assist behind the back from Adam. Puts me at 17 points. I know i shot a better % than the last few games too. But I think that's all i had..if im off let me know but i believe that's right.

Let's see...Josh just told me he had 7, so...

That'd be 54 (30+17+7) between us three, which leaves 17 for YaoWink, RocketFire, and Adam. I only remember Adam making 1 shot, so I guess it could be right. The game was really fast paced so it's a bit of a blur when I try to remember what everyone did.

It's either the camera is bad luck, or we just shot so horribly last week that the basketball Gods took pitty on us this time :p

Seriously though, I could do without the camera, personally. If it weren't for the ease of taking stats using the footage, I would just as soon stop bringing it. It's not even that I consciously think about it during the games, because I really don't. But I know one thing: for one reason or another my play was a lot better in the first C League (before the camera) and last night (without the camera), so maybe there actually is a real correlation there, at least for me.

Like I said, I'd be fine leaving it at home, but then what about stats? That's the only thing.

I'm with you..i dont conciously think about the camera when i am playing. Who knows what the reason it was that we all came out shooting well...maybe it's an upward swing we can just ride. Either way i think we played well and the shots were falling and hopefully we can continue that streak for the rest of the games.

One thing that i can say was a bit different in this game was that we went in really relaxed and we almost had a GUN HO attitude about it. We saw their size and knew we were going to have problems inside but we decided to do what we could and played really relaxed. We weren't nervous like we expected to go out and dominate.

Maybe that is the real reason our shots felt a bit better and went in. Everyone kind of just played lose and didn't hesitate on shots and i think we need to do that from now on.

i think i was joking about us being camera shy...Im not sure if kerry would be disapointed or not

as to what stack was saying makes alot of since though. every year we have played its always been playing down to bad competition and then playing up to good competition. we have to be more consistent out there for sure...it could have something to do with nerves, noy playing together as often as maybe we should,...

the bus stop stalkers - letting it all hang out...on the court

i am only more prone to getting faked out due to my high energy D....im ok with being subjected to a bad fakeout as long as i know im giving a strong defensive effort.....
    it was kinda bad though

Did yall play against the old guy yesterday or is he in "B" league?

He was at the apts with his team (I'm guessing thats his team) and was saying how "tonights competition wouldn't be a problem".
