All the songs are very powerful and are being delivered with an emotional force I have not felt before. My soul has been touched by this tribute. I have had several tears in my eye tonite.

Someone is singing "Redemption Song" by Bob Marley and changed a lyric to mention NY. Not sure who this is but this is just awesome. WoW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This is unbelievable!!!!!

That was Wyclef singing "Redemption Song"...

There's no doubt in my mind that these songs will be put on a cd...and it will make a lot of money.

Who's the guy singing with the guitar sitting down and with some guy playing piano with a hat and someone else with a guitar next to him. He sounds like Eddie Vedder (that's not what Eddie looks like is it) and the song sounds like "Better Man".

That was a very scary version of Eddie Vedder. He looked like Dennis Quaid!

Well I'll be damned, so it was him. Two years ago I couldn't have identified him if he had a name tag on.

Now that I see them all out on stage for the first time I've gotta say,
Holy crap there are a lot of famous people there.

    Was that a Dixie Chick!

    ed vedder

    neil young, young neil

    mike mcready

it's a song called long road. he's recorded it twice, once with young and pearl jam in 1995 (on the merkin ball single) and then again a year later for the dead man walking soundtrack, which featured nusrat fateh ali khan.

here's a link to tonight's version, if at all inclined: http://www.fivehorizons.com/tour/cc/sounds/01/5h_herotribute.mp3

(ps it sounds NOTHING like betterman...)

Maybe I should've clarified, but by sounding like better man i just meant certain parts sounded like certain parts of better man and at least twice it sounded just like the beginning of a certain part of the song. Hard to explain since I can't seem to get better man in my head right now. Kinda the way "what it takes" sounds like "candy".

are you allowed to bring up better man and candy in the same paragraph?
