Weird that this thread popped up. I am way beyond caring about or soliciting opinions on it. I have avoided splenda for the last 9 years and there have been no reoccurrence of the issues I had. Whether or not it was truly the cause is irrelevant to me. Good day.

lol. I still get a chuckle reading that list of side effects reported by people.

Are you sure your Splenda wasn't laced with Ricin? Dum dum dum...

    haha sorry.

Glad to hear you're ok. Anything that's artificial like that is bad for you.

So, to summarize: artificial sweeteners are making you fat and being fat is making you sad and being sad is making you ugly and being ugly is making you depressed and being depressed is making you want sugar and round and round and round it goes until you turn into a tornado of self-loathing.

So basically what that study is showing is that if you drink a diet soda and later in the day eat 4 Big Macs and 4 orders of fries, you will still gain weight and it's all because of the diet soda.

    Ooooookay....

The idiotic saccharine scare in the 70s made me very skeptical of claims against artificial sweeteners. Seems like a lot of people have been trying their best to prove something they want to be true, but are frustrated because they can't. I'm tired of the hot air.

Back when I was an auditor and would move from office to office, I was at one place that ONLY had Splenda. Not even sugar packets. After a couple weeks or so, I noticed I was having crazy headaches. Having trouble focusing. Dizziness.

I was trying to narrow down what had changed since I started having those issues, and the Splenda was the only thing different out of my routine. I searched "Splenda Side effects" and freaked. I stopped using it and within a few days I was back to normal.

It's the devil and I hate it. Thanks for listening.

I don't drink artificially sweetened drinks anymore. I gave them up about 6 months ago after like 5-6 years drinking them. I HATE that argument - that artificial sweeteners cause cravings. Who cares if it increases sugar cravings...

    A. Just eat something with sugar in it then. A cookie or some chocolates is 40-100 calories. Fruit is less. Both options far less calories than a 12oz Coke.
    B. Cravings? That's mental toughness. Just don't give in.

For people that drink a lot of sugar drinks, switching to diet is a great idea if you're looking to cut bad calories.

Wtf? I thought Splenda was the healthy alternative.

Should I stop using it? I take 4 packets a day (2 cups of coffee per day).

I think Stevia overtook it. I'd continue to drink it if I were you.

I like how most of the things you listed as "unfit for human use" are only unfit according to debunked or out of context studies, uninformed public perception, or lawyer based faulty claims.
