what has been your experience with them? I won't touch them. I just have a bad feeling about those things. They scare me kinda like guns scare others...What is that? Ouiji boards don't kill people? Don't be so sure...I got a story to tell you, but I first want to hear from others if possible... Btw, Mrs. JB...In no way am I dissing you for having/using them...You seem to be spiritually enlightened enough to discourse any potential negatives...I would like to hear your thoughts on this...
Oh Ouija, show the names of any ghosts in this home. J. Jason Kenzie True story...all the candles blew out, an angel statue fell and smashed on the kitchen floor, the dog went wild, and the room dropped like, it seems 50 degrees. Sooooo freaky. I loved it.
I've played with them tons of times... In fact there is one in my closet as I type! I've had some "interesting" experiences with them... Sometimes they work, sometimes not, sometimes I found out they worked b/c people were cheating... they sure are an interesting way to spend a late evening/early morning! The times spent in front of them make for great stories, though!
That's scary... I'm kinda interested in ghosts and such (as you can tell from prior posts), but I wouldn't want to meet one...again.
Are you sure you want to do that MoNkEy?...Remember your failure at the "hospital"...Not ready are you...You need to complete your training by thinking positive things. You will know when you are at rest, peaceful...then do,...or do not... There is no "try".
The Ouija boards that I currently have, I bought for collector value. The boards have been around, in various forms, since the early 1900s. Two of mine are the early wooden ones and the other is a nifty fifties' variation called "The Mystic Swami Board." I had intended to hang them on my wall, but I have yet to get around to it. Obviously, they don't bother me, though I do understand that they make some people nervous. I think it all depends on your spiritual/religious views. Since I don't personally believe in devils, evil spirits, demons, etc ... it's hard for me to fear opening a pathway for evil by using a Ouija board. That said, I really haven't used a Ouija in a long time -- since my teens actually. I do however use tarot cards regularly and find them to be a useful tool for exploring deeper subconsious issues I may not have been aware of. I've always been fascinated by spiritual traditions of all kinds and have spent time exploring their attendant rituals such as yoga (Hinduism), meditation (Buddhism) and divination (Paganism). I find there to be value in all approaches.
O.K. here is my "story": According to my father (RIP, Dad...) He had been working off the coast of England in the North Seas during the mid 70's (He had been a tug boat captain nearly all of his working years...) when some of his crew decided to break out the board during their free time...My Dad didn't participate since he was monitoring in the wheelhouse, but neither cared to anyhow...According to him, they ended the session laughing so hard suddenly and they all decided to retire for the night...The next day my Dad brought the boat to portside where it was anchored and roped on the dock... It was customary to jump to the dock rather than use the ramp since the distance between the boat and the port is usually stable and at a distance of only a foot or so... My Dad is usually the last to get off since he needs to inform the relief captain of the ship log and other pertinent data...When suddenly, there is a commotion outside and it becomes clear a tragedy has occured...One of the mates had jumped, but as he did a wake moved the boat away as he was in mid air...the unfortunate fellow fell in the water, and as the others tried to pull him out, the momentum of the boat by the wake caused it to reverse movement and move towards the dock, crushing the person and killing him immediately... Back then safety wasn't regulated like it is now, still my Dad felt so bad about it...Eventually he found out that during the Ouiji session, they had asked "who would be the next to die", and it was this person named who got killed the next day...From then on, my Dad would never allow the board on the boat...
I don't mess with that stuff. I leave it all to witches, warlocks, pagans and others of those likeness. As far as ghosts are concerned, they don't concern me because I'm alive. I never talk to them nor have a need to. If they exist, they understand that about me and have never bugged me anyhow. I just trust in life, the BIG GOD and have no questions I need to know.

man you guys have some great memories! How on earth did you remember the list of devil references? WOW!
my family is very Irish....very superstitious...i know i've told some of my familys' ghost stories here before my brother's wife's grandmother (got that?) is really in to her ouija board....she takes it with her on trips...all kinds of things...really kinda freaky to me. but this lady has called more things ahead of time that are just wild than i care to remember. she told my sister she would not be going back to college the next semester..that she'd have to wait until january to go back to school. sure enough, my sister gets sick and misses the next semester of school, staying home in Houston instead. she's done this kind of crap over and over again. she says that there are spirits who are "attached" to this board..some "talk" louder than others..the creepiest thing is when my mom and i were with her and she went and got the ouija board out of the trunk of her car. she started playing with it and it started freaking out on her...it "yelled" at her for locking her in that "damn trunk" when it was so hot outside! whatever!! hey...i'm just telling the story!!! the views of the ouija board lady are not necessarily representative of the rest of the family! my mom's grandmom drew her a picture of a house one day when my mom was a little girl...she told my mom that she was gonna hold on to it because it was the a picture of the first house my mom would buy. some 14 years later my mom and dad bought a house...my mom had completely forgotten about it. she went to her grandma's house to tell her about it...the old lady pulled a picture out of a closet and asked if it looked anything like the drawing...my mom said she got a cold chill up her spine...EVERYTHING was perfect, right down to the landscaping in the yard and placement of trees. oddly enough, the ouija lady...my brother's wife's grandma, says that me and my syblings are quite intuitive..that she can sense it..and she told my mom that she thought i had the most of that sense, but that i refused to look deeper into it because of my faith in Christ. ummmmmm....yeah...ok. tell you what...you listen to that board scream at you about being hot in the trunk of a car...and i'll head off to church like a good little boy...deal??? ok!!!
