I can see Parsons and some minor assets going for Rondo. Then Lin, Asik, Jones, Dmo ect... for Kevin Love? Rondo Harden Casspi Love Howard Would be ridiculous...
Said it in another thread... I HOPE Rondo was simply not engaged DEFENSIVELY during last week's game with Dallas. JOSE CALDERON blew by him numerous times. If he's capable of getting back 100% defensively, this may work out and be a great move for us. Again, Pierce is an excellent one on one player and got plenty of opportunities to go to work with Rondo running the point. So would Harden. And James is likely just as good if not better of a spot up shooter as PP, and better in transition and finishing, which Rondo is also very good at. Everyone worried about two dominant ball handlers is putting too much into that. It's his knee and DEFENSE I worry about.
My basic trade scenario works for Rajon Rondo, as well: Jeremy Lin and Omer Asik to New York; Tyson Chandler and filler (Ronnie Brewer) to Phoenix; Iman Shumpert, Donatas Motiejunas, two first round picks (one from Phoenix, one from Houston), and Emeka Okafor (expiring contract) to Boston; Rajon Rondo, Brandon Bass, and Miles Plumlee to Houston. New York replaces Chandler with a younger and cheaper C who does not trash Mike Woodson when speaking with the media and upgrades drastically at PG, from the awful Raymond Felton to Lin. Phoenix upgrades dramatically at C and doesn't give up anything noteworthy Boston takes what he can get for Rondo and Bass, and officially enters tanking mode this season. Not a terrible haul, really. Houston announces to the basketball world that they're going for it. If things don't work out, Rondo and Bass are very moveable assets, and Houston can hut the reset button this summer. Say what you will about whether Rondo is a "good fit" in Houston, but the dude is a FAR more valuable asset than anything Houston gives up in this trade. Always remember that Daryl Morey is always looking to a) accumulate assets and b) maintain cap flexibility. This trade accomplishes both goals.
How has Rondo being playing since coming back from his long knee injury? I don't really follow the Celtics.
If it's green + rondo morey will probably do that FYI. I really don't like the idea of moving parsons but at the same time I would be more open to it if we get a solid SF back also. I feel parsons has helped this team ALOT he's the GLUE but maybe morey wants more D & his 3&d guy you wanted my end up replacing parsons since parsons has shown recently he doesn't put effort in on D like his first year
I've remembered Cyberx being accurate 3-4 times on big major deals. He called it when we thought getting Dwight from ORD was a lock. Then called it again when Dwight shocked the Lakers and multiple sources insiders... What he posts doesn't pan out every time (who does, yesterday's paper??) but for fans who know that deals come and go as fast as the rumors catch fire, it's great to have an insider look.
all this parsons trade talk is bumming me out. I don't think he'll get traded, at least not this year. He's gonna be a part of this playoff run
4/4 from 3 last game, averages 10pts 7asst 5reb think around 25-30mins. His D is not how it was before the injury or maybe the effort hasn't been there yet
I never said this is going to go down and happen. Do you know how many scenarios go back and forth...? Rockets don't feel they can win a championship with this exact roster. Celts are down for Bev as well. Morey will do whatever to keep Parsons, but he knows how difficult it can be with the new CBA. Parsons will be pricey, believe it or not, there could be teams close to offering him the max.
