Propel really have no clue on how to negotiate. Morey isn't going to just admit that trading Parsons is an option.

Morey has been helping inflate Parsons value for years. Glad Morey is playing hard to get. He always thinks ahead rather than in the present.

Remember Patterson for Robinson? Patterson was better for the team last year and Morey still traded him and his backup for a second rounder.

And I strongly disagree. You can't build a championship if you keep changing major parts every few months. Miami was a stacked fluke. But look at OKC...Indy...SAS...did they panic and start throwing out pieces. OKC gave up Harden and it set them back. Let's look at the teams that do change players like underwear...Dallas...NY...NJ...etc

Maybe for Love but Rondo is no Love...not even close...

If they could get Deng as well as Rondo then look... on paper this move totally makes sense

    But....

I dont know what it is, but I feel like losing Parsons just feels wrong for some reason. I actually think in a year or two Deng will be a significant downgrade to what Parsons is now much less what he will become if he keeps on improving which it looks like he will. However I get that Rondo is the prize possession, and would significantly change the way this team plays on a nightly basis, and he could do wonders for Dwight.

Also I have my reservations about the locker room situation. The team chemistry could REALLY get tossed through a loop with this trade. Not that I'm saying Rondo is a locker room cancer or anything, but I just feel a little bit nervous about this deal.

What a tough, tough situation for Morey honestly... if he has to choose between potentially Parsons/Lin and Rondo/Deng that's not an easy decision to be in.

I wasn't trying to discredit cyberx. Someone joked about Stein getting his info from this thread. I was just pointing out Stein had different info, likely different source.

"Morey told me several years ago when talking about the 2006 draft that he thought Rondo was the best player in that draft (other than Roy)"

    DM has his man crushes...

Man, I don't know how to feel about all of this. Rondo is the type of player you have to give up something significant to receive in a trade but would hate to see Parsons go. He is the ultimate glue guy and one of the main leaders on this team. Chemistry is such a crucial thing.

You're right. Rondo is more valuable to this team than Love. We need a PG and Rondo is a top 3 PG in this league and a walking triple double. Speaking of Miami, if Wade hadn't broken Rondo's arm, they most likely wouldn't have gotten past the Celtics that year. That's how good Rondo is.

I admit, Lin and Parsons for Rondo, Asik and filler for Deng makes some sense. But the bench... God, the bench would BLOW. And our cap situation would be a disaster too if we re-sign Deng.

I'm not optimistic about trading parsons as some of you are. Bad move, would really mess up team chemistry.

Dude, that sucks. I'm sorry. Days like these are the best! It was the same during the summer.

No need. We all know who he is. It would be a drop in the bucket for the info man.

It's true, that would be tough, but has Deng ever actually been mentioned as a possibility? or are we really looking at Lin/Parsons or Rondo?

kk no problem...it is worth noting that jtr use a public forum to discredit folks on this board that have substantiated their claims...Even if the trade doesnt go down, it would mean that the information that was initially posted was accurate...Regardless...will do what you asked...

rondo is amazing. I'm just skeptical about the torn acl. Although people tend to forget that kyle lowry has had a torn acl before and bounced back fine and has had no serious knee problems throughout his career.

I still think it would make way more sense to go after Lowry, if Lowry and McHale would give it another go.

I forget which thread it was but i remember BimaThug telling me that Deng is a great defender and thats what we basically need is a player that plays good defense.

As for people arguing Cyberx's validity as a bonified insider... if you doubt he has the inside track, then you haven't been here that long, or haven't paid attention.

However the truth is always lost in translation, and you really can't even believe anything in this Poker game even when its coming straight from the horses mouth (or especially when its coming from the horses mouth).

Before it was sort of led to us that Parsons was very much in play from the Rockets side, and now we just see that the angle is coming from Boston's side.... which can be said about pretty much any team that calls Morey about a deal... They aren't dumb enough to mention Harden or Howard, but Parsons I'm sure gets mentioned almost any time Morey picks up the phone.

But this time, I do think Morey actually has to look at it without laughing and hanging up the phone... that's the only difference in this time, and every other time.

Fair point, but if Rondo is healthy and motivated like we have seen him in the playoffs over the years and like when he went for 44pts against Miami then he's right there with CP3 as far as PG capability and Morey should be willing to gamble on that.

Agreed. Taking out of the picture the "chemistry" concerns, obviously Deng is a perfect replacement for Parsons from the offensive side, and a better defensive player. But he's also 3 years older and going to demand a large contract this summer. Why not just pay that to the already nearly-as-talented Parsons? If you make this trade I think your window for a championship shrinks (timeline) but your odds may improve for the near-term.

At the very least, it's another exciting Trade Deadline.

Our championship window is 3 years ( after that we go sth like Harden/?), so i would give up Parsons for Rondo(if CP is the dealbreaker) ... Parsons must be paid soon AND i believe that Parsons/Harden/Howard can't contend for a championship. There is a lot of risk but ....
