He would seem to fit real well with this team.

#1 He supposedly has a great attitude and smiles all the time.

#2 Provides two things that Cato should be providing but isn't: he's a very good shotblocker and he is a teriffic hustle athlete when he's on the court.

#3 He is a legitimate 7'0" even if he only weighs 215lbs, but he has long arms, the better for blocking shots with.

Ok, granted he's pretty raw, but he's young, he likes to play, he's athletic, he's learning, and he'll only get better. I think he compares rather favorably with guys like Samuel Dalembert and it'd be really nice to see a big guy on the Rockets who is young, hustles, and is athletic, all at once. Probably could be picked up on the cheap, too.

Okay, who is this guy again? I remember the name but I get him confused with O.O. (Olumide Oyedeji) and D.D. (DeSagana Diop). I looked for him on nba.com but he isn't listed in the player index. I assume he is out of the league?

I think he was waived to make space for the Bo Outlaw trade.

I've seen this guy play up close. He's very raw. But he's a natural shotblocker and loves to hustle. Even learning on the bench wouldn't hurt...

Here's the 'notes' section from telebasket.

    Notes
He is 22 so it was time to show up even if with the Africans you cannot ever be sure that what's printed in the passport it is his real age............played in Slovenia in 1998-99 and put up some numbers.............resurfaced on the other side of the Atlantic, in the IBL, where he blocked everything flying there..............his final stat 2.7 blocks per game (in less then 30 minutes a game) does not tell the truth.........he was a terror in the middle in virtually every game...........has the typical naivete of the African player but he's the best athlete in USA over 6'10" who is not in the NBA................just a terrific runner of the floor...........has a lot of work to go through in the weight lifting room but as most African ectomorphos will never became too big..........has an enormous pair of arms and big hands...........has no offensive fundamentals to speak of and a partial understanding of the game.............will let go a right handed baby hook shot and something out to 3 meters..........will rebound on both sides of the court but will not dominate...........has no current way to wrestle his way out when somebody stronger puts a body on him...........does not know any trick but looks like somebody who could learn..........great timing for the ball..........shot an interesting 69% at the line (in 1999-00) and showed a good form...........does not talk much...........has evident NBA potential but may be an extremely interesting Europro if something would go wrong.

Actually, this helped me a bit more:

36th pick in the 2000 draft
    New Jersey

NBA fans had better learn how to pronounce this guy's name, because he's got game. Here's some help: Soumaila (soo-My-luh) Samake (sa-MAH-key). NBA scouts learned the proper pronunciation of Samake's name in a hurry as they flocked to IBL games to seek him labor for the Cincinnati Stuff. Though a raw talent -- this native of West Africa didn't play college basketball -- there is obviously much in Samake's game to excite the NBA. He led the IBL in blocked shots and shot 56 percent from the field and a respectable 69 percent from the free-throw line. He averaged 9.7 points and 7.6 rebounds. Samake was a tad foul prone (255 in 60 games, for a 4.25 average) and had 143 turnovers, but his upside has the scouts salivating. Look for him to go in the first round.

    here's the link.

The best way I can describe him, is if you turn on a NBA game, and see him moving around, playing defense, he looks like he belongs on the court with the David Robinsons of the world.

Of course you watch him for more than a few seconds and the illusion is gone, but if the guy had been playing basketball all his life and had had a passion for the game, he'd have been an all-star type. No doubt in my mind.
