I am saddened but not surprised that someone would so callously diminish the horrific crime spree that resulted in the loss of life of at least three officers by simply attempting to turn it into a gibe at the president's expense. As a supporter of our servicemen and women, I am also shocked by the fact that someone would then turn around and seemingly endorse the gibe by posting it on this board. Despite their many failings, our police deserve better; especially those who have paid the ultimate price for their service.

Shame on you basso and other "conservatives" for trying to politicize the death of American police officers. You and gwayneco should be ashamed of yourselves.

I just can't stomach watching it. An hour of left wing **** followed by an hour of right wing ****. At the end of the day, you've wasted two hours and all you have is a bag full of ****.

He is bringing the troops home while simultaneously begging congress to not get rid of defense spending which we need for high-tech manufacturing jobs to replace jobs lost through globalization. Does anyone believe that he understands what he is talking about?

Nope, POTUS is just pulling it out of his ass. I'm sure he is very un-informed on the topic.

    "Work harder" to do .....what?

Here's the thing that people constantly forget about Congress, and really something that I think should be placed in giant red letters in high school:

Congressmen do not represent the nation. At all.

They represent a small cross-section of the nation, something like 500,000 people or more than that. And to put it simply, no Congressmen gives a flying **** about anyone outside of his district. They don't. As long as they make the people they represent ( which, you know, is their freaking job as representatives) happy, they're cool. And more often than not, you don't make the people happy by proposing some gigantic overhaul of government one way or the other.

Term limits to put it simply are a terrible idea out of the very simple fact that freshman Congressman do not know what they're doing. At all. Congress does a lot of **** to acclimatize them to their new job, orientations and all that stuff like you do with new employees. And like new employees, they still screw up. From my perspective, go out there and propose "term limits" in an ordinary corporation. See how well that would get received, and you pretty much have Congress's reaction.

Also, btw, if there's anything I've learned here in Washington, it's that politicians aren't necessarily smart ( though a lot are), but even the dumbest ones are heck of a lot smarter than nearly all of the ordinary people I deal with.
