That's almost as good as Lionel Simmons going on the injured list with Nintendo Thumb. Classic indeed!

The highest estimate I found came from the JFK Health World Museum in Barrington Illinois who claim that a sneeze can go as fast as 85% of the speed of sound or approximately 630 miles per hour.

Smart businesspeople see this as an opportunity. How about mixing some claritin in with the human growth hormone? Partner your HGH with Ny-Quil! The no sniffling, sneezing, coughing, aching, stuffy head, fever so you can hit 66 homeruns medicine!

I heard a while back that 7 sneezes in row are equivalent to an orgasm. Don't know if it's true, I always get to six and stop. Talk about a tease. Then a minute or two later I'll sneeze for the seventh time, but it's not seven in a row so I feel nothing.:(

Best one I ever heard was a pitcher (Steve Sparks I think) seeing one of those "inspirational" strong guy performances, where they break cinderblocks & whatnot, and back in his hotel room proceeded to separate his shoulder trying to tear a phone book in half.

Weirdest sports injury I ever heard of was Glenallen Hill.

He seriously cut his hand, severing tendons, in several places, and was on the DL for an extended amount of time.

He hurt himself, he said, while reacting to a nightmare about being attacked by spiders ( of which he had a phobia) and arose while still dreaming, and thrashed about, pushing his hand through a mirror or window ( can't recall which).

With typical jock sensitivity, his fellow Blue Jays then and there christened him with the nickname 'Spider-Man', which stuck for years.

LMAO! This thread rules! Screw the Cubbies!!

What a strange way to injure yourself. Some of those injuries are just hilarious.

Which Astro was it back in the 80's (Terry Puhl??) who separated his shoulder waving someone on?

Memory is fading on the incident now...I may be mixing one incident with another.

    Note to self:

Stop at grocery store on the way home from work and buy one pound of pepper.

Rome today was talking about all these freak injuries from baseball players, and somehow linking that to indications of steroid use. I didn't fully understand it ... any thoughts on that?

I've pulled muscles before while sneezing. I guess that happens when you are buff. :)

    Or are taking roids. :(

If your muscles are very buff from working out or roids, I guess the thought is if you do not work on flexibility, one is more prone to muscle pulls.
