That guy may have been a piece of ****, but I'm going to miss him. Also, the bit with the ice cream, he saw he was under surveillance, so he was faking for the feds.
thats what i thought at first, but he had a funny look on his face when he got back in the house. it would be one helluva plot twist if Junior was slowly going nuts, but everyone thought he was acting...
all out war between NY and NJ? could Tony be blaming NJ for Ralphie's MIA? i loved how the toupe finally came off... i knew he was bald in real life, but to add that to the tv show was brilliant! and tony's line "you're so high you wouldn't know if it was your mom's muff on his head" or something like that... had me in stitches!
Drapg - I feel the same way, just when I was starting to get bored - WAM - killer episode. Probably my second or third favorite. My favorite is Season 1 - Episode 12 "Isabella" when they try to kill Tony. I have never missed an episode, but the whole mob hierarchy confuses me. Tony runs the NJ crew and Carmine runs the NY crew? Johnny Sac is who in the NY family? Tony kicks $$$ up to NY or they just partner on projects? Who is getting beat up next week, I kinda think it is Chris. I'm glad "that guy" is gone - what a POS. Everyone else think he was in on the horse fire?
That was the best episode of the season so far which is great news because it's been a little dull. This one reminded me of the one when Tony's sister killed Richie. A complete surprise!
Tony runs the NJ crew b/c the real boss (Ecko something) has been in prison since the start of the show, and Junior has his own troubles Carmine is the real boss of NY. Johnny Sac is the underboss... he runs everything to keep Carmine out of the spotlight, but he answers to Carmine... sort of how Tony wants to set Christopher up in NJ. They are partners in projects. However, I get the feeling that the NY crew looks at NJ as their little brother and pushes them around from time to time. having said that... i can't wait for next week! even though previews are so misleading, it still looks great! as for the horse, ralphie abosolutely set the fire. i think he needed the cash to kick up to tony for some other "thing" and he had to pay for the new Jackie Jr. scholarship at Rutgers that he started. now as for Ralphie and Rosalie Aprile. Maybe its just me, but I don't see Rosalie as going for that kinky crap that Ralphie likes to do. She doesn't seem like the type. when i thought about that, it reminded me of a scene b/t ralphie, jackie jr, and his friend last season. jackie jr and his friend are eating spaghetti in the dining room when ralphie walks in and tells them the story of the card game holdup and how he couldn't go b/c he had the "drippy dick" ... after ralphie left the room jackie jr. says "i think he's a secret ***"... i wonder if rosalie leaked some sex life info that got back to jackie jr? just a thought.
By the way...Tony is a madman...the guy get Raid sprayed all over his face and still had the strength to kill Ralphie with his bare hands.
I don't think there's any doubt Ralphie set the fire, but I thought it was more a Valentina issue, and less a money thing; though the money was surely tempting. It still sucks he's dead, he was easily the most interesting character on the show, in my opinion.
I don't ever remember hearing that and I haven't ever missed a show. The original boss was Jackie April when the show first started and he died of cancer...
There have been several subtle mentions (including last night's episode) that Junior and Johnny Soprano's brother Ercoli "Eckley" Soprano is the boss of the family. He has been in jail for years and Jackie Aprile was the acting boss. When Jackie died, Junior took over as acting boss, than finally Tony. But the true boss is Ercoli. He, however, has no power or control while in jail. Go back and rewatch the show and you'll notice passing comments about him. Rewatch tonight's show, you'll hear Junior mention his brother as still being the boss.
I remember catching it the first time in episode one and wondering "who the hell is he?" than I jumped onto the sopranos newsgroup and became addicted. i'm now a regular over there. its a great forum for sopranos fans b/c there are so many subtle things to this show that are difficult to catch. with hundreds of people contributing on the newsgroup, no stone goes unturned! for sopranos fans, its a great read.
sorry Sonny, just saw your question - nope, its a usenet group this week's episode was really good too! the intervention scene had me cracking up! i mean come on, a room full of mobsters and they're expected to just talk about their feelings? i loved tony's change in expression after ade blurted out about killing the dog. anyone else think chrissy was gonna blurt out about ralphie when he was talking smack about the group? and they finally mention the russian from last year! i wonder if Tony will pick up on that? as for that painting, i couldn't stop laughing. why does paulie want tony watching over him while he watches tv on his plastic covered chair? carm and furio need to get it over with. its an annoying plot line. but it looks like AJ has it figured out, since he gave furio a look before leaving. hopefully Paulie doesn't get whacked in the turf war. he's my favorite character... always brings comic relief! "did ya hear what i said tone, i said he always brings comic relief!"
****** Spoilers ****** At the intervention when Paulie is giving it to Chrissy - classic stuff! That whole scene was too funny. It doesn't take long for the mobsters to gang up and kick someone's ass. Drapg - I like Paulie, but he is a snitch and he has been doing nothing but whining lately. He used to be one of my favorites. The last episode was pretty good, I was afraid of a huge let down from the episode where Ralph went on "vacation". I really liked when Tony was talking to Christopher in the hospital telling him that "if it was anyone else they would be getting their intervention through the back of their head." They are building some good suspense trying to lay Ralph's departure on New York. I don't care for Johnny Sack at all. Svetlana is a real trip - telling Tony that she will call him, don't call her ... ha! The funniest part about him with the Russian chick, I told my wife right when the scene started that Tony was gonna get some, I can just tell. I get the feeling that Furio wasn't having dinner alone at the end, where did Carmela's note say she was staying, a hotel?
