it only takes one significant win to change around a season...tonight we are going to be in the game all the way and i feel we will make the plays to win down the stretch. we have played great basketball since denver minus wells' stupidity at the end of the denver game and the 4th quarter vs. gs. we are ready to bust out and tonight we will win and then beat orlando on the road (they suck at home) then get a back to back win vs. the knicks. this win tonight will propel us to a 50 win season
"There's one thing I want you to do for me." "Uhh...what's that?" "Win." "What?" "Win!!!" "What are we waiting for?" * * - Cue the Rocky music
Thank you for that denniscd. Posts like this remind me of the defiant facet of being a Rockets fan. Optimism. Something I lost in Philadelphia but rekindled in the Denver game. I also believe we have a real shot tonight.
It's true that one good win can give us the confidence to go on a streak and I agree this game could definitely do it. Pessimism is for weak fans... because there is always something to root for. Until this team is mathematically eliminated from the playoffs... there is the possibility to turn it around.
i like the optimism and i do believe we will have a shot to win against the celtics... however a 50 win season is doubtful there is way too many inconsistencies in shooting and execution down the stretch ... they get lost too easily when its crunch time and it doesn't look good when games are close in the fourth esp. when teams eliminate yao with fronting and double teams. WE NEED CONSISTENT OUTSIDE SHOOTING!
i like the optimism and i think we've got a realistic shot too. the way the play is similar to ours, so we'll be in the game at least.
Without Bonzi Wells and his 17 pts and 8 boards against Denver the rockets wouldn't have even been in the game.
You know why the Celtics are 26-3.....not because of their offense, because of their defense.......They have our former assistant coach: Tom Thibodeau With that said I hope we win....
it wouldve have been stupid if he fouled him after he left his feet on the way down. Guy just made a lucky difficult shot..thats all you could ask for on the defensive end.
In theory, one win can change a season. In reality, it almost never happens. If there was more substance to the point I would love to join in. But anyone who thinks we will go 35-16 from now on and finish with 50 wins after starting 15-16 is out of their mind. The stretch goal right now is just to make the playoffs. What actually might turn things around and give hope for the season is some sort of trade. This is a concept more grounded in reality. It happened in 04/05 and could happen this year. I'm not trying to be a downer but if we keep this roster intact, the optimism is unfounded. Consider also the performance of our head coach.
Lucky and difficult shot? Absolutely. Does that justify Bonzi leaving his feet on a pump fake? Never. That's just bad defensive fundamentals. Anyway, let's get back to the thread. I still believe. We CAN beat them, as long as we play smart and hard.
just because you're writing a positive comment doesnt mean you can use a new thread when you can write this on the game thread.
