With the recent preseason struggles someone going to get traded or cut. I really beleive that JVG is serious when he says he wants production and not excuses. I see some moves coming soon. My assesment of the team so far. 1. Moochie Norris play has been horrible, he still dribbles too much. he should be traded or just let go. 2. Francis still thinks that this his team but he forgets that he is the point guard and should get everyone else involved in the offense instead of holding the ball and shooting last second "homerun balls." 3. John Amechi is a joke at best he is the 12th man on the team. Bad trade for the rockets if they don't end up using the trade expection. 4. Nachbar still looks like he is out there playing lost. So much for his slashing ability, when he slashes and shoots he either gets blocked or throws up a brick. I also wonder why he is the one allways throwing the ball in bounds? Atleast he is trying. 5. Eddie Griffin hasn't showed much maybe it was a bad idea into turning him into a PF cause he can't play with his back to the basket. It is almost like he is failing so he can go back to jacking up 3 pointers. 6. Mobley haven't seen much but seems like JVG will have him as the third option. Less of scoring role this year. 7. Yao has looked great despite starting camp late. 8. Jim Jackson don't like the way he has been attacking the basket seems like he is afraid to take in. His shot has been suspect also. 9. The bench- Cato has looked good, I like that JVG has been playing in at the PF slot when Ming is in the game. As for Piat. he look good in his game time before getting hurt. Nice sweet shot. Taylor incomplete but we know his strenghts and weekness. Adrian Griffin incomplete not seen him at all. Well I would like to see JVG cut Moochie and Keep Scales or Wilks with ever can handle the point better. I personally like what i seen from Scales. I would also switch Mobley and Francis on offense this would suit both players better since you want the point guard to get others involved. That what francis is still your 2nd option behind Ming. That way when he gets the balls get can look to score instead of looking to pass when he really wants to score. Besides didn't Mobley play the point for the Rockets his rookie year. I would also would like for the Rockets to sign a big SF such as Demarr Johnson for defensive play.
1. agree, moochie more of a mascot than clutch is 2. here is the thing with francis: he's inconsistent. when he plays good hes amazing and when he has a bad game, he sucks horribly, theres never a median. and the days that he is good people will praise him like anything but when he sucks, the SF flame threads start. but in reality, if he can be more consistent with his game, i think he will earn respect from the SF haters on the bb 3. manboobs = gay; im pretty sure he wont make the team unless JVG wants cato playing a good chunk of those PF minutes 4. my faith in him decreases every night he plays, but im hoping he will prove himself and the valuable pick we spent on him 5. just like boki he needs to prove why he's better than the pick we spent on him (richard jefferson) 6. definetly, with JVG trying to get yao to get more touches, cat will have to sacrifice his shots but im still sure hes going to be scoring 12-15 a night 7. despite yao not being here for camp, hes the only that seems like he knows whats going on and his head is in the game GO YAO 8. wheres the vertan leadership he was supposed to provide? 9. scales, wilks, and piatowski look great. pike can drain jumpers like anything...cant wait for MoT to come back in and bang around in the inside and get those boards.
just basically that if JVG is gonna use cato more as a PF instead of a backup center, were gonna need amaechi for that backup for yao, otherwise i dont see any role for him on the team
