I don't know, there's something about the Olajuwon story I cannot believe, on the same day his career "suposedly" ended, reports surface that a Jordan-Barkley comeback in Washington may happen. Is he hurt for real, or is this a publicity stunt so Hakeem could join them? He isn't exactly "Mr. Loyal" either, and I know he isn't as nice as he seems on camera. ------------------ RKMAN Proud believer of the 2001 World Champion Houston Astros. Somebody has been watching too much "X-Files" Come on, he's been out for a week, and the story broke yesterday. This is ludicrous. ------------------ Behad Sergeant at Arms of the Clutch BBS
I just wrote an entire column about that very thing. It will be up later today. It is unreal how stupid that is. ------------------ "Don't waste it. We're here."

I have a hard time believing that Hakeem would choose that path to supposedly join up with Jordan and Barkley. He is a free agent after this year and if he was thinking about doing something like that he could have just signed with Washington during the summer. And as for Jordan coming back I think sports writers have too much time on their hands. But hey, if he is coming back a Rockets uniform would be nice. ------------------ take it one day at a time

That's crazy, especially if you consider that one of Olajuwon's biggest knocks is that he never won with MJ there all year (which I think is a bunch of BS). Why would he want to quit on the Rockets now, and if he won a ring with MJ, what would that accomplish? ------------------ "That's been a lifelong dream of mine." -Vince Carter, after laying it in on a breakaway, much to the Vancouver crowd's displeasure.
Jordan was rusty when he came back and Orlando beat them. So you know it will take him even longer 5yrs later. ------------------ President of the Steve Francis, Jamal Crawford,Larry Hughes, and Charles Woodson fan club.
I dont know about the relation between the Barkley/Jordan RUMOR (dont think it's relevant to Hakeem)...but I did kind of have to wonder about the timing of this Hakeem thing. YOu just never know if there is some underlying (covered-up) factor! Either way, he has been great to Houston, and whatever his wishes are SO be it! I dont think my Honey, Sir Charles, would be all that interested in acquiring Hakeem (on that fantasy team) anyways...he says it's time for Hakeem to retire! I think Hakeem still had some BALL to contribute, but the thing is he's ALWAYS injured...and u have to have a good, reliable center in this NBA today! ------------------ With the Mostest!
I guess this means the Wizards are going to change their team name again to something like the Washington Geezers or Geriatrics. I've no doubt that Jordan can still light it up, once he gets into game shape, but why not finish the job he started by rebuilding the Wizards into a playoff team? Is his ego so big that he has to be the center of attention all the time? If Barkley wants a ring so much, then why doesn't he just sign for the veterans minimum next year with a team like the Spurs (which I feel is the best team this year) or some other team that appears to be a sure thing. Even the best team could use Barkley down the stretch (assuming he gets in shape). If Dream decides to play for another year or two & if the Rockets organization act like they want him back, I think he'll resign with the Rockets (even it's for just the minimum). When the Rockets trade or sign whatever FA's their going to, that should show Dream that this team is doing the right things to be a champion again. This off season is going to be the final year of rebuilding. We should have all the pieces in place. The Rockets are on the brink of greatness again & wouldn't it be a fitting end to an incredible career if Dream were to play his last two years with them & go out with one more ring? ------------------

Dream Barkley Bird Jordan Magic The ultimate "Dream Team".....10 years ago. It would be interesting to see these guys play together, if they could get into some kind of shape. They're old, but definitely experienced & would get all the calls from the ref's. Just make sure you have plenty of oxygen available. ------------------
