Though I will take this "inside info" with a grain of salt (though Doc Rocket and Clutch has hinted of this posibility), I can tell you that sending Rudy to Europe and firing or reasigning him later is not big deal.

I have a first hand experience of this scenario. My boss sent me on an important business trip and gave me lots of responsibility during that time. Our company was struggling (somehow in relation to the our nations economy) but I did not think I will be affected. Little did I know I will be "burned" right after the "project".

My point is you cannot use what is happening around you to determine your job security because you never know what is in your "lind side".

maybe he is protecting him. his "ballboy" could actually be someone higher up like some kind of executive or trainers assistant.

Dont believe it! Les is not going to give $12 mil away for nothing! There would also be great difficulty in replacing Rudy T, as there arn't many quality experienced Coaches available.
If anything I had hoped it would be his Assistants that would be returning to their back- room jobs.
The excessive vulgarity is Street Language. It does surprise me as I considered Steve Francis a quality person of high character.
Rap Music, which was started by Tiny Tim is not considered cultured music.

So people that use foul language aren't of high character?

    Says who?

GM's and personal directors do quite a bit of scouting. If he's moving into the front office, that wouldn't preclude him from taking that trip.

If this "ballboy" has a "relative in a very high position with the rox management," I don't think he'll be fired so easily for divulging rumors. The worst punishment he'll get will be a slap on the hand. Family usually protects their own...

Rule #1: Thou shalt be verified by Clutch in order to receive credibility and accolades.

Rule #2 (a.k.a the "rockHEAD rule"): If rule #1 cannot be satisifed, thou shalt post pics for confirmation.

Failure to follow these rules will result in ridicule and dismissal. See exhibit A, labeled "TROY BARROS," for more information.

... Now, having said that, show us those shoe pics!

JoeBarelyCares makes an excellent point, which I thought too, when I read your post.

In DocRocket's thread, he confirmed Bagoboy's info that he had heard that Rudy was going to be fired. Then just recently he heard different, that Rudy is going to be back.

Is is possible that the info your ball boy friend heard is dated or is not in the know on the latest? Could you check on that? Please go back and re-read Doc Rocket's first post... you don't have to read the whole thing ... but, could you check to see if your info predates or postdates him?

Is it also possible that your friend has been instructed to leak, just to give us stuff to talk about here? I'm not sure why they would do that, but perhaps to pacify the angry posters here that the Rocket's organization has taken things seriously, even though they end up bringing Rudy back.

Thanks Eric Riley. And, as the other posters mentioned, I hope your source doesn't get in trouble, since we definitely know Tim, the Rocket's marketing director posts on this site, and probably many others lurk. We love having sources, even tiny tidbits of info, around here.

And, ignore all the naysayers. Even if this info turns out to be dated, that doesn't mean you won't have something cool to report in the future. So, please protect your sources, so the organization doesn't know who to reprimand. Regardless of what people say to demand who your sources are, the best credibility is to have info that proves out to be accurate.

I'm quite sure that your friend is right - that the players *think* Rudy is gone. But, that's like the typical scuttlebutt around the office. It probably means nothing. Now, if you're friend worked in the Rocket's front office and the rumors were flying around there, that would be different. Bu the players are so far removed from management that anything they're thinking about Rudy's future is pure speculation.

Regarding Glen Rice, it would be *extremely* surprising if he were not the quiet, well-spoken type. He's almost 40 and doesn't have anything to prove with the chest-thumping bravado of the younger X generation.

Good Lord. He's 35. Being 34, and knowing how quickly time passes (when you hit your 30's, it's, "Where did my 20's go?"), I'd prefer not to automatically write off 5/6 years. :)

Protect his sources? Ummm, I think he is protecting his sources.

Ummm, maybe the guy really isn't a ballboy.

Awfully bold for someone whose lying...

Maybe Eric is the ballboy. Who knows? In any case, thanks for the post Eric. Maybe, just maybe, the Rox do know something about basketball.

Let me give you a piece of advice Eric Riley. You just said one of the ball boys stole from the lockerroom.

I'd be willing to bet someone is getting fired before Rudy.

    I agree JoeBarelyCares.....

It's funny that some of you guys don't believe this thread but have no doubt about McBeth's pornstar thread.

Take it with a grain of salt and chill out before you bash the guy.

Evidence for which is Steve's stand for Rudy. He obviously thought Rudy's job was in jeopardy.
