After leaving my parents' house tonight, I went to the store to get some milk. On my way home, I went by my old apartment and then it hit me like a ton of bricks. My old neighbor is from New York and I prayed that nobody close to him lost their life. His car was there, so I went by to check on him. At first he didn't answer his door, but he finally came after I knocked a second time.

It turns out that his sister worked in the second tower! He heard on the radio about the attack and the first thing that came to his mind was "My sister is dead." However, she had gotten out after the first plane had hit by frantically taking the elevator. He told me that it wasn't long after that the elevator went out and so did the power. She called her parents to tell them that she was okay. However, he emphasized to me that she felt that if she had waited just a minute or two to get on the elevator that she would have never made it because she worked near the top of the building. He said it took her 6 hours to get home.

He was very appreciative of my concern and shook my hand. He also had told me that he was amazed at how many people have checked on him to see if he was alright. I have lived in southern middle Tennessee all my life. To me this was just an example of Southern hospitality. I am so glad and thankful that no one close to him died in this terrible tragedy.

This is such good news to me...that I felt that I needed to share it here. These last 2 days I have felt that I have gone from having just one sister to having over 50 brothers and sisters.

DoD, Clutch, Jeff, The Cat, Will, RocksMillenium, DaDakota, HayesStreet, HOOP-T, and everybody else: thank you from the bottom of my heart for your friendship. I think I speak for everybody here that the support and love that is shown here is unbelievable. If there was ever any problems of getting this country to become united, all they have to do is come to the ClutchCity BBS site and see how everyone of us has come together. You don't know how much each of you mean to me. Also, let's all continue to pray for Mark McGriff aka McMark that he's okay and that he will post soon to let us know this.

    Thanks,

    Jon aka Manny Ramirez

Man that is a great story, I'm glad she is ok. We all have to stick together, we're in this together. It's like an extended family here. This is so sad. :( And where is McMark? :(
