This goes again to the point that the current Republican Party is primarily driven by fear. For that matter they would rather prolong that fear than actually doing something in it like voting for a bill that would greatly improve border security.

Every 19 seconds someone is sexually assaulted or raped in our country. That's 4547 victims a day and 31,829 victims a week. But.....those 4 are being pointed out. Fear mongering!

It might have been prevented if Trump hadn't torpedoed the bi-partisan border bill which was endorsed by the border patrol. Trump asked his allies to vote it down, because of he wanted to help his election. We know where his priorities are. They aren't in securing the border.
Just a reminder that even when Trump was President and Republicans controlled both houses of the Congress they didn't fund the wall. I guess they were expecting Mexico to pay for it.
