Misleading. By law, once someone is on US soil, even if they crossed over illegally and claim asylum, they have to be 'processed.' 'Funneling' and 'inviting the illegals' here simply involve patrols moving them to a location for processing. They can't simply push them back and say, 'Go away.' Every migrants that cross over this way understand the US laws.
Both require an act of Congress: changing the law or providing funding to execute the existing laws. You are focusing on only one possible solution, which is funding to execute the existing laws. That might be okay in the short term, but our immigration laws are broken and need to be updated. We should address both aspects, not just one or the other.
And here you have the senate majority leader, admitting that nothing will get done on border because trump wants to run on it the republican congress doesn't want to anything that will hurt his chances...

The sad part is if trump wins he'll never get 10 democrats to vote in any deal with him. This is the one opportunity Republicans have to fix the entire issue and they're telling their base they have no interest I just don't understand how these people are so utterly dumb
You are not entitled to apply for asylum in Texas as a foreigner. Theres no section in Texas constitution that gives that right. There's literally federal law that forces CBP to process and screen migrants. That's the law. If you want to change the law which we should call your local senator and tell them not to back away Amazing how boomers are so naive nd dumb

you are simultaneously arguing that only the feds can secure the border, and that the federal government does not have the authority to do so absent new laws from congress. aside from the incoherence, at least one of these, and perhaps both, is not true.

The Biden Administration is fighting to keep the flow of illegals churning in. They want to remove the razor wire and they won't build the wall. We have no idea who these people crossing the border are. Few are from Mexico these days. They could be Hamas for all we know. Or Russian military. Point is, we don't know. This is a national security threat that could rip apart our country. This issue will be a focal point for 2024 politics... and is deeply damaging to the Democrats. I have no idea why they don't enforce the laws on the books. A political (and national security) miscalculation by the Dems.
