Yes that could happen if we do things like abadoning the rule of law allowing political leaders to commit financial and electoral crimes. Allow angry mobs and political parties to stop the peaceful transition of power. Defund both national and local law enforcement because we feel it is prosecuting people we ideologically agree with. Obsess so much about grievances and culture war issues that we are willing to overlook Constitutional principles.
